This combined Yampu tour includes a visit to Copán, the site of some very impressive Maya ruins, where we will spend 2 nights exploring. We will then cross to Guatemala by car, visiting Antigua Guatemala (“Old Guatemala”). From here, we will explore Lake Atitlán and the Maya towns that surround the beautiful lake. Finally, we will fly to Flores to visit the mystical Maya city of Tikal, staying a night in Flores (located on an island in Lake Peten Itza), near the Maya ruins.

Combine the Maya ruins of Guatemala (a noted biodiversity hotspot) and Belize with the turquoise beaches and barrier reefs of Belize. This tour includes the Maya ruins of Tikal in Guatemala, and Xunantunich and Altun Ha in Belize, with a beach extension to San Pedro in Ambergris Caye. Yampu travelers will also visit the city of Antigua Guatemala and Lake Atitlán—the deepest lake in Central America, with three volcanoes on its southern flank.

Visit the ruins of Tikal in Guatemala and Copán in Honduras, and end your vacation on the white sandy beaches of Roatan. Yampu travelers will also visit Antigua, Guatemala (famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque architecture, with large volcanoes to the south and west) and Lake Atitlán. The island of Roatan is surrounded by the world’s second largest coral reef. This provides calm, clear beaches for swimming and snorkeling, and many varieties of sea life. The island's friendly, "laid back" atmosphere is an ideal setting for relaxing and enjoying the beach.

From here, we will explore Lake Atitlán and the nearby Maya towns. Yampu travelers will then fly to Flores to visit the mystical Maya city of Tikal, staying a night in Flores. We will be able to see more Maya ruins in Belize, especially around the town of San Ignacio. Last stop: San Pedro in Ambergris Caye, known for its turquoise waters and barrier reef.

We will travel overland to Mexico and relax on the Riviera Maya in Mexico visiting the Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itza and Tulum.

Yampu’s Complete Maya Route will take you to see the mystifying Mayan ruins in Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. We begin our Maya Route at the classical Mayan site in Copán. In Guatemala enjoy a city tour in colonial Antigua before visiting Lake Atitlán, its three surrounding volcanoes, and the largest site of Mayan ruins, Tikal. In Mexico, visit Palenque, known for its fine architecture and sculpture, and the beautiful Mayan pyramids at Uxmal and Chichen-Itza.
