Explore one of East Africa’s most rugged, arid and stunning national reserves: Samburu. Located about 217 miles north of Nairobi in the Rift Valley, Samburu’s grounds are part desert, but not without a reprieve. The Ewaso River cuts through the grounds and draws many types of animals in high numbers. Though particularly known for its rare, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and Beisa onyx (three animals found exclusively on its grounds), Samburu also boasts a large population of Nile crocodile, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl and Somali ostriches. Three hundred and fifty species of birds have already been recorded within the reserve.

Explore the Laikipia Plateau, one of Kenya's lesser-known and more intimate regions marked by its exceptional scenery, luxury and seclusion.
