Tour Botswana, one of the most successful economies in Africa and home to diverse wildlife including the world’s largest concentration of elephants. The country's name originates from the main tribe in the region, the Tswana, and the prefix “bo” meaning “country”. Botswana, a former British protectorate, became an independent country in 1966 and already has a relatively stable political system, and one of the most successful economies in Africa. Though 70% of Botswana is covered by the Kalahari Desert, the country has extensive nature preserves and the world’s largest inland delta, the Okavango. Botswana also has many rivers, grasslands and savannahs, and is home to diverse wildlife including the world’s largest concentration of African elephants.

Botswana:

A valid passport is required to travel and should have at least 6 months’ validity after your return home. You should have at least 2 blank pages per country that you are visiting. If your passport does not meet this requirement at the time of departure, you can be denied boarding for your international flight and may consequently incur additional expenses.

Visas are not required to enter Botswana for citizens of the USA, the UK or Canada. Citizens from other countries should check with Botswana embassy, consulate office, or their travel agent at least eight weeks in advance of travel for entry requirements.

The government of Botswana requires proof of yellow fever vaccination only if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever. This does not include the US.
