Zambia and Malawi Tours

Zambia came into being as an independent country in 1964, existing previously as a part of the British protectorate of Northern Rhodesia. The country takes its name from the Zambezi River, which flows through the southwest region, up to Zambia’s most recognizable landmark, Victoria Falls (on the border with Zimbabwe). Zambia is mostly a high plateau country, broken up sporadically with mountains, hills and rivers. Zambia’s population is very urbanized, with rural areas being sparsely populated and regionally concentrated by the country’s nine major ethnic groups. The blending of these groups in the urban cities led to today’s integrated Zambian culture.
