Be in the know before you go

Laos:

A valid passport is required to travel and should have at least 6 months’ validity after your return home. You should have at least 2 blank pages per country that you are visiting. If your passport does not meet this requirement at the time of departure, you can be denied boarding for your international flight and may consequently incur additional expenses.

Tourist visa is required. You may obtain a Visa on Arrival or choose to use the services of a visa processing company. Please contact the Laotian embassy or local consulate directly for specific application procedures, here. You may choose to obtain a Visa on Arrival at the Luang Prabang airport. If you get your visa on arrival in Laos, you will generally be allowed to stay in Laos for 30 days after you arrive.
