Yampu’s brief tour of Belize includes an over-land trip to the Belize Zoo, the finest zoo in Central America and made up of 29 acres of tropical savanna and home to more than 125 animals native to Belize. This tour also includes the Xunantunich Maya site, with a stay in San Ignacio. Here we will take an unforgettable cave-tubing excursion in the “River of Caves”—seven miles long, and all of it underground. We then return to Belize City to fly to San Pedro in Ambergris Caye, where we will have a nice snorkeling excursion in the Hol Chan Marine Reserve.

This highlight takes us to Panama’s capital city and through that amazing canal that joins two oceans, before we head to the eco friendly Caracol Lodge, a nine-cabin lodge, set over the crystal clear waters of the Bocas del Toro archipelago. From their private terraces guests we will be able to observe impressive sunsets interrupted only by playful dolphins. At night, the restaurant's impressive terrace and thatched roof creates the perfect surrounding for a candlelight dinner.

Yampu’s comprehensive tour of Nicaragua includes a visit to the old colonial towns of León and Granada. From Granada, we will climb above the canopy of the tropical forest and visit the Mombacho Volcano—part of a nature reserve that is among the most beautiful remaining areas of tropical rainforest in Nicaragua. We will explore Lake Nicaragua and visit Ometepe Island. Before we head home we will spend two relaxing days in the beach area of San Juan del Sur, a tranquil fishing village with beautiful white-sand beaches.

This combined country itinerary includes a Panama Canal transit and visit to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort, taking an aerial tram in Panama. Yampu travelers continue to San José in Costa Rica to visit the Poas and Arenal Volcanoes, staying at the foot of Arenal. While there, we will take an excursion to the hanging bridges and spend a night at the rejuvenating Tabacon Hot Springs. We then travel to the old city of Granada in Nicaragua. We will explore Lake Nicaragua and visit Ometepe Island. We will spend the last two days in the beach area of San Juan del Sur, a tranquil fishing village with beautiful white-sand beaches, smooth waters, and ecological richness.
