Small duffle bag as an overnight bag – traveling on the train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu there are restrictions for the size of luggage passengers are available to take onboard (one bag or backpack must not exceed 05kg/11 pounds and/or 62 inches/157cm (length + width + height). We recommend you store your full luggage at the hotel in Cuzco. The same is true for the train from Cuzco to Puno. Also an overnight bag is great when traveling to the Amazon, large suitcases will not transport well in small Amazon canoes to the lodges and it is best to only bring the essentials.
