Thanks, the trip was amazing. All drivers were where they were supposed to be and were all are extremely professional and nice.

The Springs was a beautiful resort and we loved being there. The only negative about the place was the food was not all that good but that was not really a big deal at all. The place was great, we loved going on the hot springs and overall loved the place.

‘Canyoning’ was just amazing and a once in a lifetime chance. It was a great day and we had so much fun. The tour we went with was very professional and fun and I never felt in any danger.
Duckie adventure – had a great time doing this as well. It was a little rockier than we thought it would be – Elise has a few bumps and bruises but we both loved it. It was only the two of us plus two guides so we had a great personal tour.
Volcano hike – this was our least favorite. It was a little dark and we did not get to see much. We would recommend in the future that someone should only book that during the day so you can see the weather and visibility. When we finally got to the top we were not able to see the volcano.
Zip lines – were awesome and a ton of fun
Hanging bridges – was really cool and was a more enjoyable hike than the volcano
For the rio Celeste – the weather forecast was not great and we did not have the energy for another hike so we cancelled that and stayed another night at the springs.

The Westin was beautiful and the service was phenomenal. It was the perfect relaxation and pampering part to an awesome honeymoon

Thanks!!!

I spoke to the Ungers and they had a marvelous time. Everything went well and they absolutely loved the adventure part and want to do other similar trips. Thank you for all your help and if you have any other suggestions, please advise.

My brother and I had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Similar to our prior experience with Yampu in Peru, every part of the trip went smoothly after the initial (very tiny) hiccup with the spelling of Irfan’s name on the airline ticket. It was not an issue on our return flight back to NY. We had fantastic guides (particularly, Jorge Calderon of Rios Tropicales), nice and courteous drivers, and the hotels accommodations and provided meals were great.

Thanks for all of your assistance in organizing our trip. We have already recommended Yampu to our friends and will continue to do so!

I had a lovely time in Costa Rica. It is a beautiful country. I saw a lot of animals. Everything is healthy looking there. My hotels were also quite beautiful. It is hard to say which one I liked the best, they were all great.
All of my guides did a good job and my transport went smoothly.
I really enjoyed Tabacon Hot Springs.I did not go on the volcano hike because I was tired from the hanging bridges walk. They picked me up for the pools and the dinner, which was great for me.
The view from the Arenal Manoa hotel was awesome.
In Manuel Antonio Park the guides were really excellent. I saw so many animals because of their expertise. I also elected to go on a mangrove boat tour. That was really wonderful, too. It was cooler and didn’t take any exertion on my part : )
There is a great Peruvian restaurant near Grano de Oro. It was the best lomo saltado I ever had (a favorite of mine!)

630 am and the van driver and Margie our guide are here to drive us to Tortuguero for two nights. I am really looking forward to going into the jungle to see the animals. We ride over the continental divide and stop at a restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast is typical of the area with eggs, beans, rice, and plantains. The plantains are so sweet it is like eating candy. After breakfast the road turns to gravel and we are told we are getting a free massage, a good way to look at it. Along the way we see three large banana plantations, Chiquita, Dole, and Del Monte.

The trip was AMAZING!!

The hotel Nayara is a gorgeous property: the grounds were spectacular, the rooms were beautiful, and sitting out on the deck either in the jacuzzi or in chairs was wonderful.

We had some great adventures some were scary, others calm. We did get to see the volcano erupt, not at night but it did produce a big boom and then a lot of smoke. This occured after we came down from the Volcano hike. John Carlo was a great tour guide, we had him for both the morning hanging bridges tour and our evening hike. The zipline was really fun and scary. We also went rapelling/canyoning with Des-a-Fio, of course it poured and the small creek/stream was a raging flash flood! That was the scariest and most fun of all the tours. Also great food at the end, tipico meal!

Manuel Antonio was beautiful, it reminded us of Hawaii, and the tour through the park was incredible. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out things we would have never seen. We went sailing on Planet Dolphin and while we didn’t spot any whales we did see a few fish and some dolphins and enjoyed some good food.

A few things we thought about while we were there:

1. Booking two hiking tours in one day is a little too ambitious for our taste.
2. The hot springs would have been more enjoyable in the daytime because it was difficult to see the surroundings at night.
3. We felt slightly unprepared for some actities, perhap did feel a bit unprepared for some of the activities, we could have used better rain gear or proper footwear.
4. We were not prepared for the rough travel between destinations, had we known we would have booked the flights ahead of time.
5. Be patient wit tour vans, they almost never arrive on time!
6. It can rain all day and night during the rainy season!

All in all it was a wonderful experience. Thank you for all of your help and patience with us while we were there. Your company was most accommodating to our needs.

We are back home in San Diego and wanted to let you know the trip was amazing. I’m glad I choose the right agency for our vacation away, stayed in wonderful hotels, and had fabulous tour guides. I will post up my blog about it soon and share the link when it’s ready.

Thank you for your friendly note. Sorry it takes so long to reply, but things have been busy here.

We had a great time in Ecuador. I believe I have given Yampu some feedback already, in the questionnaire that I completed and gave to Jorge in Guayaquil. You should already have heard my valedictions for Edison. He is good, more than good. Use him.

Likewise with Lenin in the Amazon basin (Sion Lodge). Enthusiastic and well-informed. It was a pleasure being in his party. And don’t forget William the canoe driver, whose detailed knowledge of the watery by-ways was astounding. And last, but just as important – Jorge. His English was less but his knowledge of birds and plants was extraordinary.

Yampu deserves more than a pat on the back for the logistics. Three hotels plus the Sion Lodge, all worked on schedule. And the cast of well, not thousands, but pretty damn large – Edison, Anibal, the bus to the National Park, Lenin and William, the taxi driver who took us back to Lago Agrio, two flights, the box lunch that appeared on schedule, Jorge and the anonymous taxi driver who took us to the airport in Guayaquil. Not bad. Everyone came on stage on cue.

Thank you and congratulations. I hoped we will be back for another trip.

The trip was fantastic. No complaints about the accomodations and I was truly impressed with the transportation arrangements. The guides from the various companies were courteous, polite and extremely helpful whenever a problem arose. The atmosphere on the Caribbean coast (Tortuguero) was completely different from that encountered on the Pacific coast (Guancaste), as was each location along the way. I honestly can’t say I preferred on spot over the others, though perhaps I was little more outspoken about the comforts of Arenal Springs compared to rest. The two beach spots along the Pacific were memorable for the ocean and all the things we did there.

All the above said, I have no problem recommending your firm, and yourself in particular, to any of my friends and acquaintances regarding having you help them with their travel plans. Indeed, I have done so repeatedly today and will continue to do so into the future. It also goes without saying that I consider using your company again when Rosabel and myself start planning our next vacation or adventure trip.

Yes – just back from my trip and getting on with the jet lag thing!

The trip was fantastic – such a fascinating country to visit: I have come home with a camera full of photos and some great memories of my own. Everything went according to plan and the hotels you selected were all great.

Thanks again for the arrangements – I shall certainly be going back to Central America again and know I will be in touch when it gets time to start planning.

I had a really great time. Costa Rica is so beautiful my only regret was I didn’t spend more time there. There was so much to see every day on my tour. Jose was a great guide. I saw all kinds of great animals. It was great getting picked up at the hotel and dropped off and everything was done for me. I would take another trip with your company. In fact I would take a trip to Belize one day. Thanks for all that you did.

The trip you put together was absolutely FANTASTIC! Costa Rica is a truly enchanting place & I don’t think I could have chosen a better destination for this particular vacation. The volcanoes, waterfalls, & abundant wild life…breath taking. At some point I just stopped taking photos/ video because they did no justice to how absolutely amazing Costa Rica is. The service by was impeccable. They were always right on time, efficient, & courteous. The guided tours were amazing. The hotels were great our favorite being Arenal Paraiso. You did an outstanding job while staying within the constraints of our budget. I cannot thank you & your team enough. We have well over 300 pictures a few of which I have attached. Thanks again for everything. We look forward to planning yet another vacation with you in the future.

I returned home safe and sound on Sunday. Thank you very much for organizing a most successful overland trip through Central America. I am thinking seriously about a third overland trip through South America in the next year or so. Thank you again for arranging a very successful and most enjoyable itinerary. I will contact you again in the next couple of months about similar trips through South America and the Caribbean.

Kind regards

Hi! I had an excellent trip. Loved all the wildlife, the people, the country side, and the beaches. I was truly sad to leave and have found a special place in my heart for the beautiful country of Costa Rica!

I am very pleased with the services provided by Yampu on my trip. I was impressed with the selection of Hotels and activities that were scheduled. I felt that my trip was well balanced with a good variety of scheduled activities and some free time to explore on my own. All the tour guides were very knowledgeable and personable. On the last day I forgot my purse in the van from Manuel Antonio to San Jose. All I had to do was make one simple phone call to the agency and the driver returned with my purse. That wouldn’t have happened had we been on a Taxi or Tour bus. This is a second trip I take with Yampu and if I plan to travel to Latin America again, I will use Yampu! Thank you so much for helping me have an amazing trip in such a beautiful country!

Costa Rica did not disappoint! It is truly a lovely country, with much diversity, and beautiful wildlife. El Silencio Lodge (food outstanding) was magical! Our tour to Mistico Mountain with our guide, Andre, was awesome. We also loved Finca Rosa Blanca. Our tour to Arenal and Tabacon was also spectacular … our driver, Hernon, went off the beaten path to show us more of the wildlife, where we spotted our first Toucan and monkeys.

The last hotel, Hotel Issimo & Suites was very nice, with wonderful views and nice room décor. We did the Zip Line Tour in Manuel Antonio Park, which my husband loved, but I did not like so much due to becoming more fearful of heights. In any case, it was enjoyed by everyone on the trip, so I was in the minority :). Our best dinner in Manuel Antonio was at the Gaia Reserve, but the rains were heavy at times, so the view was obstructed, unfortunately. The Hotel Issimo had good food, too, and was reasonably priced we thought.

All in all, our experience in Costa Rica was “Pura Vida!” The timeliness of the drivers shepherding us to and from the different provinces went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend Yampu Tours to all my friends!

Parador Hotel is certainly a beautiful hotel and quite luxurious. We didn’t have a room with a view, but I’m sure those with an ocean view are wonderful. What a romantic place to get married.

The weather has also been fabulous since we got to the beach area. Thanks again for arranging our plans. We enjoyed Club del Mar so much that we changed our last night to stay here. What a sunset! Hate to come home tomorrow.

Sorry for the delayed response — it’s taken me a while to adjust back to “real life” after my amazing trip! The vacation was incredible. I saw so many interesting and beautiful sights, learned a lot from the guides, and met some great new friends. I’ve never done the organized tour thing before, but it was really nice to have everything taken care of in advance. And I got a great mix of sights with Arenal, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio.

Thanks again!

We had a fantastic time, thank you so much for organising a marvellous trip!! The trip ran so smoothly and was so well organised, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yampu- in fact we did to many people on our trip!

Everything ran very smoothly, all of the accommodation was of a very high standard, and the people were some of the nicest I’ve ever met. I can’t wait to go back to Costa Rica!

Hola Chris. Sorry, it has taken a while to get back into the swing of things. The trip to Costa Rica was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I seemed to be unusual to be traveling alone. They made sure that I was taken care of and able to see all the sights. I had some special experiences I will never forget and am glad I had the opportunity. Got lots of pictures.
