I loved Honduras – the people, the places, the food, and the wildlife. I never once felt unsafe. In fact I have felt more unsafe in places in Europe I have been than in Latin America. Of course there is crime in every country, you just have to know where not to go. I have used Yampu for 8 trips now and love them. They have great guides in all the countries, and these guides always have good tips on where to go if you end up doing things by yourself. Most of the main tourist places, such as Copan, have a lot of tourists around. The other good thing about Yampu, is if you don’t like the itineraries they have up, they will customize anything!!! Honduras was actually my favorite place in Central America I have been (I have only not been to El Salvador), so definitely give it a chance and go!

I returned home safe and sound on Sunday. Thank you very much for organizing a most successful overland trip through Central America. I am thinking seriously about a third overland trip through South America in the next year or so. Thank you again for arranging a very successful and most enjoyable itinerary. I will contact you again in the next couple of months about similar trips through South America and the Caribbean.

We are happy to tell you that we had a great holiday!! Thanks for the good organisation.
Hotels very good. The tour was a good combination of nature and culture, good food and
our guide/chauffeur a nice guy, maybe a little lazy but you are in Honduras, so what to expect. We also had fantastic weather with very little rain.

Overall we had a really good time and we always love to be in Central America.

Traveled to Honduras in July 2008

My trip was really amazing. I have known a lot of people who have been to Honduras and have really liked it, and now I am one of them. The guides were awesome; I kind of felt like they were our friends more than just guides. I really liked the bird park in Copán—it was put together really well and all the birds looked well cared for. It is definitely someplace I would recommend anyone to go to. The best places to me were the hotel in Tegus (so much charm), the hacienda San Lucas in Copán (great meal) and the Pico Bonito Lodge where we went for a hike—that’s someplace I would go back to just to stay at that lodge. Thanks for all of your help!!!
