Visit Kenya’s lesser known parks located north of Nairobi, Lake Nakuru National Park and Meru National Park. At Lake Nakuru National Park, the first park dedicated to bird preservation, enjoy a game drive to view the large flamingo population and other wildlife. At Meru National Park explore the stark and arid landscapes combined with swamp lands. Here you have the opportunity to go fly-fishing or visit a local village.

At Lake Nakuru National Park, you will enjoy a game drive where you will be able to view the large flamingo population, rhinos, predators, and many varieties of plains game. Enjoy a guided game walk around Lake Nakuru, for an intimate safari experience. Lake Nakuru was the first park in Africa dedicated to bird preservation. It also serves as a sanctuary for giraffe and rhinoceros.

Next up is Meru National Park; you’ll be exposed to stark, arid landscapes combined with swamp lands, and potentially some hippos, elephants, bucks and birds. You will also be given the opportunity for fly-fishing or a visit to a local village in the area, if you so choose.

This tour includes airfare allowance from New York, on non-holiday dates. You do not need to fly via New York; Yampu will fly you the most direct way to your city of destination. Day 1

Overnight flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

Day 2

Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Nairobi.

Day 3

Transfer by road from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park. After you unpack, settle in and have lunch, you'll set off on your first game drive. Check out Lake Nakuru's terrain and the flamingoes that abound on its shore. And be sure to keep a look out for rhinos, predators, bucks and plains game. Wrap up your day sitting around a fire with a drink—telling stories, talking to other travelers and listening to the sounds of the Bush at night.

Day 4

Wake up before sunup and have some coffee, tea and breakfast pastries, before you take a morning game drive.You'll see how still and quiet the Bush is at dawn and watch it begin to stir as the sun comes up. You'll return to camp for a hearty brunch; then you'll have the option to take a guided safari on-foot or to explore Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Head back to camp for lunch followed by a siesta, and then finish up your day with an evening game drive, a sundowner and an African sunset.

Day 5

Pack your bags early and transfer by road back to Nairobi, where you will take your flight from Wilson airport to Meru National Park. After you unpack, settle in and have lunch, you'll set off on your first game drive. You'll be exposed to stark, arid landscapes combined with swamp lands, and potentially some hippos, elephants, bucks and birds. You'll wrap up your day with a sundowner, a night game drive back to the camp and dinner followed by a cocktail of your choice by a camp fire, where you can trade stories with other travelers and listen to the sounds of the bush at night.

Day 6

Wake up before sun up for some muffins and coffee before you take your first morning game drive. You'll return to camp for a late brunch; then you'll have the option to tour a local village or try some fly fishing. Head back to camp for lunch, followed by a siesta, and finish up your day on an evening game drive, taking in another warm, African sunset.

Day 7

Wake up early again for coffee and muffins before you set off on your morning game drive. Visit the rhino sanctuary nearby and then take it easy in the afternoon. In the evening, you'll set off on a night game drive and take in Meru's nocturnal wildlife. Return to camp for sundowners, dinner and drinks around a campfire.

Day 8

Transfer to Meru airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi to connect with your flight back home, or overlap with add-on of your choice.
