Urubamba River Rafting Day Tour

At 9am we leave for the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas (north of Cusco), where our guide will give us an a introductory chat on safety and equipment for our trip running the Urubamba. We will raft for around 2 ˝ hours in rapids class II, III, IV+ and V, depending on which route we select. We could be in Ollantaytambo Class III (runs from May to December), Quiquijana Class III (December to May) and Chuquicahuana Class III, IV and V (December to May). For this last one, which is the hardest, we always have a safety guide in a kayak along with us. More information is available regarding rapid class.

Canyoning the Pisac Gorge

Canyoning is one of the most exciting adventure sports experiences available in the Cuzco Area, it is certain to be a powerful adrenaline rush.

Itinerary: At 9:00 am we pick up our passengers from their hotels, heading to Corao, 55 minutes northeast of Cuzco, to Qoya, there we will prepare our passengers for the Canyoning tour. Everyone will check and put on their harnesses, neoprene wetsuit, ropes and carabiners, while the guide explains our intended trip. Then we begin the descents in a dry place (practice), after it, we will walk up the Canyon to begin to do the Rappels in the waterfalls. The rappels are as long as 10, 15, and 20 meters at a time. Then we will have lunch and head back to Cuzco arriving approximately 5pm.

Horseback Riding in the Cuzco Area

There we will meet our Guide, Muleteer and horses for the trip, then, after a briefing, we will begin our horseback riding to Huarocondo, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will continue to the archaeological site of K’illarumiyoc. After visiting the site, we will continue back in the last part of the trail, until Ancahuasi (The Ranch). From the ranch, we will return by vehicle to Cuzco, arriving there at approximately 5pm.

Hydrospeed

Hydrospeed, or Riverboarding, is a White-Water Sport that was invented in France 15 years ago. It is based is on body-boarding. In order to enjoy this sport it is not necessary to have any previous experience, you only need to know how to swim!

Itinerary: At 9 am we pick you and go to the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley. The guides hand out and explain the equipment and some commands we will use to communicate in the river. We then get in the water where we will be for two and a half hours, running rapids of level II and III. We eat lunch and return to Cusco at about 5 pm.

Mountain Biking – Maras-Moray Ruins

Itinerary: Beginning at 9:00 am, we will head towards Chincheros (30 mins. North West from Cuzco city) where we will have a briefing, then we will begin our adventure by bike, passing by Huaypo lagoon, and the archaeological site of Moray and the salt mines of Salineras. Rappelling – 100 meters

Rock climbing near Sacsayhuaman above Cuzco. We will learn techniques of rock climbing, and rappel and ascend walls of different difficulties. Although it is very safe, the vertigo and adrenaline rush may be intense. You do not need any experience for this trip.

Itinerary: At 9:00 am we go by private van from Cuzco up to the rock wall at Chacán, located behind Sacsayhuaman, some ten minutes from central Cusco. We walk to the wall itself, where the guide explains and demonstrates the equipment and safety techniques. We practice rappelling down the wall, an ascent of 25m.Then we rappel a 40m wall.

Huchuy Qosqo Trek: Full Day Trek

A fantastic full day trek in the surroundings of Cusco, departing close from Chinchero, crossing a mountain pass and then reaching Huchuy Qosqo, an ancient Inca archaeological site, with stunning views over the Sacred Valley. We leave Cusco or Sacred valley at 8:00am on a private transportation that takes us to Chinchero to then follow on to Tauca, the starting point of our trek. We start hiking uphill amidst a beautiful mountain scenery with presence of llamas and alpacas until we get to the only mountain pass of this program at 4500m/14760ft. We then descend for an approximated 1,5h more to reach the Inca archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, with 2-level constructions in what used to be a stop in the Inca route to Lares. Salineras – Pichingoto – Urubamba River Trek

We depart Cusco or Sacred Valley early in the morning by van for Salineras. Upon arrival we will spend some time so our guide can explain to us how the salt-draining process works. We might even have the chance to try making salt ourselves.Our descent into the Sacred Valley of the Incas starts off on a narrow path and we need to walk cautiously. We may spot the cara-cara, a typical Andean mountain bird and a member of the falcon family. The path, which runs alongside a gorge, takes us down to the Urubamba River. On our side is a brook that also runs through the saltpans. Because of its high salt content, it turns the earth on its banks white. Other birds we might spot while we approach the river are the Andean gull and the hummingbird. The Terraces of Yucay: Half – Day Tour

We start to walk towards the San Juan gorge, next to a very wide Inca canal. A narrow path takes us up to the agricultural terraces. These terraces are the only ones in the Valley that are still maintained and used. Our guide will explain the ancient irrigation system. We arrive at the Gate of the Sun, where the Incas used to perform religious ceremonies. Here we stop and enjoy a refreshment. As we loop the gorge we have beautiful views of the Valley and a wide variety of plants and flowers. We descend to Yucay where our transport picks us up.
