Yampu’s visit to Iguazu Falls and Yacutinga Lodge is not to be missed. The grandeur of the falls defy words as 553 cubic feet of water per second thunders down a 269 feet fall in a beautiful tropical location. We will spend two days near the falls at the Yacutinga Lodge and Wildlife Nature Reserve allowing the opportunity to see the regional flora and fauna. Prior to visiting the falls, we will enjoy three days in Buenos Aires, the cultural heart of Argentina.

This trip can be customized to fit your individual travel dates and any specific requests you may have. Your travel consultant will prepare a customized itinerary for you. We offer a choice of 3, 4, 5-star and deluxe hotels. The Deluxe option is with the Alvear Palace or Four Seasons in Buenos Aires (no upgrade available at Yacutinga).

This tour includes airfare allowance from Miami (US), on non-holiday dates. You do not need to fly via Miami; Yampu will fly you the most direct way to your city of destination. Depending on your travel dates and proximity of travel, we will quote you the most economical surcharge from your city or country of origin.

Day 1

Take the overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Day 2

Arrive in Buenos Aires, and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour of Buenos Aires, an impressive city that combines the atmosphere of an old European town with the features of a Latin American capital. In this tour, you will acquire a deep understanding of its characteristics, its history, its architecture, its culture and its best stories. We will visit the center of the city, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero and Palermo, with stops in Plaza de Mayo, Caminito and La Recoleta.
Note: check-in is normally after 2 pm. Early check-in may be granted subject to availability (not confirmed). Also, tour is done on group basis and may involve wait times picking up other passengers at different hotels. We recommend that this tour be done privately in order to avoid this, at an additional cost of $ 42 per person, based on two people ($ 84 based on one person).

Day 3

Fiesta Gaucha
Full day excursion to an estancia for a typical barbeque lunch and a folklore/gaucho show. Here we will learn about the customs of the Argentinean gauchos and their abilities on horseback that will leave you breathless. The meat will be cooked a lo gaucho outdoors on the barbeque. Lunch and drinks included. Afternoon, return to Buenos Aires. Duration: 6 hours. Operates every day except Tuesday.

Day 4

Day at leisure in Buenos Aires
Evening tango show
At night, you will see an unforgettable tango show performed by the best dancers and singers while enjoying a delicious meal at Esquina Carlos Gardel. This world-famous tango show features the glamour of the 1930s in a romantic and intimate setting. This is the perfect way to leave Buenos Aires, the city of tango. Three-course dinner and Argentinean wine included.

Day 5

Morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Puerto Iguazu. Reception at Puerto Iguazu airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure or choose from optional tours below.

Day 6

Morning guided tour to the Argentinean side of the waterfalls. Pick-up at your hotel and transfer to visitor center inside Iguazu National Park. To get from the visitor center to the beginning of upper path, lower path and Devil’s Throat you will aboard a little train that runs from the visitor center to the paths and between each one of them. You may also walk from the visitor center to upper and lower paths, but you cannot walk to Devil’s Throat because it is located more than 4 kilometers from the visitor center.

Great Adventure: This tour combines a jungle trip with a boat trip to the falls. Trip starts in the jungle of the National Park in 4 by 4 trucks without roof for best visibility of the trees and to take good photos. Then we take a zodiac boat to the lower Iguazu River upstream to discover the falls little by little with a panoramic view of the Iguazu Falls. Be prepared to get wet under the falls! Afternoon return to your hotel.
Note: this boat tour involves some light trekking and climbing of steep stairs. You need to be in reasonably good shape since it can become somewhat strenuous. Please ask your travel consultant about this.

Day 7

Optional morning tour to the Brazilian side of the falls (visa is required for American and Canadian citizens).

Afternoon transfer to Puerto Iguazu. We will go through the Argentine Provincial Urugua-I State Park toward the extreme northeast corner of the country where we switch to a 4 x 4 truck and continue for 3 kilometers toward the shore of the Iguazu River. If the weather allows, we will navigate in motorboats through these waters for about 45 minutes up to Yacutinga Port. Upon arrival, we will be transferred by jeep through the Yacutinga Wildlife Nature Reserve to the lodge. Check-in and briefing about the lodge, the system of the lodge and the activities. Welcome dinner included.

Day 8

Yacutinga Lodge
Early breakfast and short hike to the San Francisco River, where you will float through quiet waters, ideal for a photo safari. This floating tour is very secure; the water of the river is gentle and it goes with the current. There is a chance to observe wild fauna through this gallery forest from a very close distance, since fauna is more active in the early morning. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon escorted wildlife excursions to the various interpretation trails. In the early evening, visit of one of the observation towers for night games with scopes, binoculars and strong spotlights. Return to the lodge for dinner. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 9

Yacutinga Lodge / Puerto Iguazu
Breakfast and free time at the visitors center, explore one of our self-guided trails or relax in the pool. Transfer back to Puerto Iguazu; upon arrival, transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, transfer to the international airport for connecting flight back home.
