Yampu’s Buenos Aires, Santiago and the Lake District Tour will take you around the capital city of Buenos Aires and Bariloche in Argentina. Next enjoy a cruise across the Chile border with breathtaking views of the Andes and their snow-capped volcanoes, before arrival in Puerto Varas. Here you will visit the fascinating island of Chiloe before going to Santiago, the capital of Chile, with a tour of the city and its surroundings.

This tour includes airfare allowance from Miami (US), on non-holiday dates. You do not need to fly via Miami; Yampu will fly you the most direct way to your city of destination. Depending on your travel dates and proximity of travel, we will quote you the most economical surcharge from your city or country of origin.

Day 1

Take the overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Day 2

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
An impressive city that combines the atmosphere of an old European town with the features of a Latin American capital. In this tour, you will acquire a deep understanding of its characteristics, history, architecture, culture and stories. We will visit the center of the city, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero and Palermo, with stops in Plaza de Mayo, Caminito and La Recoleta.
Note: This tour is done on group basis and may involve wait times picking up other passengers at different hotels. We recommend that this tour be done privately in order to avoid this, at an additional cost of $ 42 per person, based on two people ($ 84 based on one person).

Day 3

Fiesta gaucha
Full-day excursion to an estancia for a typical barbeque lunch and a folklore/gaucho show. Here we will learn about the customs of the Argentinean gaucho and his abilities on the horse that will leave you breathless. The meat will be cooked “a lo gaucho,” outdoors on the barbeque. Lunch and drinks included. Afternoon, return to Buenos Aires. Duration: 6 hours. Operates every day except Monday.

Day 4

Day of leisure in Buenos Aires
Evening tango show. At night, you will be treated to an unforgettable tango show performed by the best dancers and singers, while enjoying a delicious meal. This is the perfect way to leave Buenos Aires, the city of tango. Return to the hotel.

Day 5

Morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Bariloche. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Afternoon, free to enjoy Bariloche and its fabulous views of the Andes across the blue waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Bariloche is surrounded by evergreen forests, snow-capped peaks, deep blue or transparent green lakes, spring flowers and alpine architecture.

Day 6

Lago Todos Los Santos
After leaving the hotel we travel on a bus to Puerto Pañuelo. Upon arrival we board El Condor Catamaran and sail the Blest Branch of Nahuel Huapi Lake. After lunch we start a bus trip to Puerto Alegre which borders the Frías River during 3 km. On board the Caleuche or the Dalca motorship we sail Frías Lake for 15 minutes. Enjoy the view of Tronador Hill. Upon arrival at Puerto Frías we clear Argentine customs and proceed on a bus through lush Andean vegetation to the Vicente Pérez Rosales pass and then 29 kms. to the Chilean customs at Peulla. After customs, it is a short ride to Peulla We enjoy lunch (optional) in the cozy restaurant of the Peulla Hotel with a magnificent view of the lake. We then board the Lagos Andinos Catamaran and set out to cross the waters of the Todos Los Santos lake. On our trip we will be able to view Mount Puntiagudo and the impressive Osorno volcano. We will arrive to Petrohué and during our trip to Puerto Varas we will do a stop for visiting the magnificent Petrohué waterfalls. You will be transferred to your hotel in Puerto Varas.

Day 7

Full-day visit to Ancud in Chiloe
Depart from Puerto Varas early in the morning and drive to Pargua, where the ferry goes to the “big island” of Chiloe. Pass through Chacao and Caulin, where there is much bird life. Continue to Ancud, the largest town on the north of the island. Visit the main square and the Chile Tour museum, which has a picture display of the history of Chile plus the myths and legends for which the island is famous. Continue past the Gulf of Quitalmahue to the fort of San Antonio. Time for lunch and in the afternoon, visit Huaihuén Hill for a beautiful view of the town and its surroundings. Return to Puerto Varas and transfer to your hotel.

Day 8

Morning, free to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Puerto Varas and Lago Llanquihue. Afternoon, transfer back to the airport to take the flight to Santiago. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 9

City tour of Santiago
A journey through the main streets of Santiago, viewing the neoclassical Moneda Palace, built in the 18th century and current seat of government, the Plaza de Armas, or main square with its cathedral, the Museum of National History and the Central Post Office, all with very different architectural styles. Continue to the Parque Forestal, based on the Champs d’Elysee in Paris, the Fine Arts Museum and Santa Lucia Hill, where the city was founded in 1541. Continue to the bohemian area of Bellavista and climb San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view of the city with the Andes Mountains in the background. The tour finishes with a visit to the handicraft village of Los Graneros del Alba (closed Mondays; an alternative is chosen). Return to your hotel.

Day 10

Full day of touring around Santiago. On this day, you may choose from one of the following excursions: Vina del Mar and Valparaiso; Valle Nevado; Isla Negra - Pablo Neruda Museum; Cousińo Macul and Concha y Toro wineries.

Day 11

Morning of leisure in Santiago. Afternoon, transfer to the airport to take the flight back home.
