On this safari tour of Tanzania let Yampu guide you to several of the popular National Parks and Conservation areas that provide the best game viewing in the region. During this tour you will visit Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. Together these areas paint a portrait of the Tanzania landscape and wildlife.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Arusha to spend the night. The following day, you will begin the safari circuit in Tarangire National Park. The park’s 2,850 square kilometers is home to many wetland areas and is especially known for large herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees. In addition to its variety of classic African animals, the park also offers a unique insight into the Maasai culture and way of life.
After two nights in Tarangire, the next two nights will be spent at the Ngorongoro Crater, a large, un-flooded volcanic caldera which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself millions of years ago. Within the crater’s rim are plains teeming with herds of animals, while the surrounding highlands offer views that are out of this world.
Then, you will spend tree nights in the Serengeti, easily the country’s most renowned park and also the largest. Its far reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acaicia tree have made it the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa. It is also home to the annual wildebeest migration, where more then a million animals make the seasonal journey into the plains.
Finish your safari circuit in Lake Manyara National Park. Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are the only kind of their species in the world. They make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season, and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. In addition to the lions, the national park is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world — a fact that makes for interesting game viewing of large families of the primates.
Throughout this journey, you can expect to view the most sought after wildlife, including large prides of lions, elephant, zebra, and wildebeest herds, the endangered black rhino, leopards, varieties of antelope and gazelles, monkeys, and a whole range of even more wildlife in awe-inspiring numbers.
