The M/Y Coral I and Coral II are both elegant and classic yachts, perfect for explorers who want to feel the islands with privacy and supreme comfort. The cruising speed of the Coral fleet will allow you less time in transit and more time exploring the various islands of the archipelago and enjoying the impressive endemic flora and fauna.

The ample lounges aboard the Coral are graced with a classic marine decoration; large windows that allow our guests to have an amusing panoramic view of the islands and its wildlife; and comfortable lounge couches to read, sleep or relax. Aboard the Coral there are several opportunities to enjoy the ambiance and amazing environment of Charles’ Darwin paradise.

These ship itineraries alternate every two weeks due to Galapagos National Park regulations, Galapagos cruises are not permitted to visit the same island within a two week period. This itinerary is available every two weeks; please check with your Yampu travel consultant for applicable travel dates.

Day 1

Sunday
Today we will take flight from Ecuador's mainland to Baltra. Upon arrival we will be greeted for airport reception and transferred to the M/Y Coral I & II to begin our Galapagos adventure.

Charles Darwin Research Center, Santa Cruz Island
We make a dry landing to visit the Charles Darwin Station and its interpretive center. Here we witness the efforts and results of the ongoing field work conducted in the name of science. While on the island we have the chance to stroll the main street of Puerto Ayora and browse the many local handicraft shops.

Day 2

Monday
Punta Cormorant, Floreana Island We make a wet landing on the greenish colored beach of Punta Cormorant. Here we take a brief walk through the black mangroves to Flamingo Lagoon which holds one of the largest populations of flamingos in the Galapagos. We continue our walk to La Picona to see the marine turtles and their spawning grounds on the beach. We return to Punta Cormorant where novice snorkelers can practice from the beach and more experience snorkelers can explore Devil’s Crown. Please be advised Devil’s Crown is an open water experience and there is no place to stand.

Post Office Bay, Floreana Island
We make a wet landing on Post Office Bay to visit the oldest postal system in the world. From this remote archipelago send letters to friends and family around the world.

Day 3

Tuesday
Gardner Bay, Espanola Island
Gardner bay is located on the eastern shore of Espanola Island. After a wet landing we will walk the seemingly endless stretch of white sandy beach that is home to large colonies of sea lions. There is no trail to follow on Gardner Bay so the afternoon is at your leisure to swim, snorkel, explore, or relax.

Punta Suarez, Espanola Island
Espanola is one of the oldest islands in the Galapagos and is small and flat with no visible volcanic crater or vent. Punta Suarez has one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the archipelago with a long list of species found along its cliffs and beaches. We make a dry landing for a walk on the lava-boulder terrain to visit the island’s unique colonies of sea birds including blue-footed and red-footed boobies. After crossing the nesting grounds we will reach one of the world’s largest colonies of waved albatross with over 15,000. Punta Suarez is the only island in the Galapagos where the waved albatross is found.

Day 4

Wednesday
Interpretation Center, San Cristobal
Today we will visit the Interpretation Center opened in 1998. The Center explore the history of the archipelago from its volcanic origins to present, representing the natural and cultural history of the Galapagos.

Day 5

Thursday
Cerro Brujo, San Cristobal Island
A dingy ride along the coast of San Cristobal will take us northeast to Cerro Brujo. We make a wet landing onto the island’s white sandy beach which is a great open area popular for bird watching. Frequently seen is the Chatham mocking bird and the Chatham lava lizard, both endemic to the island. Here we have time to snorkel with sea turtles, rays, and sea lions.

Punta Pitt, San Cristobal Island
This unusual volcanic formation is located in the northeast of San Cristobal Island. Here we are likely to see tiny lava lizards scurrying around the rocks as well as all three species of the Galapagos booby; Nazca, masked, and blue or red-footed boobies.

Day 6

Friday
Espumilla Beach and Buccaneer Cove, Santiago Island
Today we will visit the main attractions of Santiago Island including the holy stick forest, beautiful Espumilla beach, and the amazing landscape over Buccaneer Cove. Espumilla is an important beach for nesting marine turtles; here you can also see the white-checked pintail, finches, and mockingbirds.

Puerto Egas (James Bay), Santiago Island
We make a wet landing on the black sand beach of Puerto Egas which was the site of a small salt mining industry in the 1960s. A walk down the shoreline takes us to grottos where we can see several colonies of fur seals. This location is ideal for watching shorebirds, while land birds are better observed inland. Before returning to our vessel we have the opportunity to swim and snorkel from the beach in search of octopuses, sea horses, star fish, and other marine life.

Day 7

Saturday
Bartolome Island
This island is perhaps the most photographed location in the entire archipelago. As we arrive on the island we see volcanic formations including lava bombs, spatter, and cinder cones. We make a dry landing and walk to the top of the island in order to see the most famous Galapagos vista: Pinnacle Rock & Santiago Island. This is a steep climb aided by a wooden staircase, but the view from the top is well worth the effort. After returning to the dingy we ride around Pinnacle Rock for our first chance to see the small Galapagos penguins. Before returning to our boat there is time for an optional swim or snorkel.

Sullivan Bay, Santiago Island
We make a dry landing on Sullivan Bay, an area that had the latest volcanic activity in 1897. This is a site that is popular for those interested in volcanoes and geology because of the numerous lava formations, lava bubbles, and pahoehoe lava.

Day 8

Sunday
Charles Darwin Research Center, Santa Cruz Island
We make a dry landing to visit the Charles Darwin Station and its interpretive center. Here we witness the efforts and results of the ongoing field work conducted in the name of science. While on the island we have the chance to stroll the main street of Puerto Ayora and browse the many local handicraft shops.

We disembark to board a bus taking us to the Highlands of Santa Cruz. Here we visit the native forest and the twin craters. The island is a good place to view the giant tortoise in their natural habitat and we have the opportunity to visit one of the island’s lava tunnels.

This afternoon we return to Baltra airport for our flight back to Ecuador's mainland to connect with another Yampu add-on of your choice.

Yampu only offers the Coral I & Coral II as an add-on to our highlight programs. If booking alone, booking fees may apply. Prices include flight from Quito to Baltral, and return; 7 nights accommodation; all meals, all tours with a bilingual naturalist guide, and Galapagos National Park fee and Transit Control Card.

Not included are any gratuities, fuel surcharges, and local airport taxes that are payable in the country of destination. Taxes and security fees that can be paid at time of ticketing are already included in the quote (if airfare has been included in the quote).
