We will visit the Corcovado National Park, the crown jewel in Costa Rica’s extensive system of national parks and biological reserves in the Osa Peninsula, the Arenal Volcano, the town of Monteverde and its Cloud Forest, home to more than 100 species of mammals and more than 400 species of birds. Yampu travelers will spend their last 2 nights at Manuel Antonio National Park, with its small beaches and bays surrounded by luscious rainforest.

This tour includes airfare allowance from Miami (US), on non-holiday dates. You do not need to fly via Miami; Yampu will fly you the most direct way to your city of destination. Depending on your travel dates and proximity of travel, we will quote you the most economical surcharge from your city or country of origin.

Day 1

Upon arrival in San José, transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

San José - Corcovado National Park
Transfer to the airport to take the domestic flight to Palmar Sur. Transfer by land to Sierpe River, where a boat will take us to Corcovado National Park. Afternoon, at leisure. Overnight in Corcovado. All meals included.

Day 3

Corcovado National Park
Hiking tour of the park. Guided by a naturalist along the trails of the park, we will be able to enjoy an astonishing waterfall and a picnic on one of the beautiful beaches of the park. All meals included.

Day 4

Cańo Island
Full day in Cańo Island. Located 17 kilometers off the western coast of the Osa Peninsula, the island has white beaches, rocky platforms and cliffs. The presence of stone spheres, tombs with statues of the same material, gold offerings and polychrome ceramic leads indicates that the island was used for a burial ground for important people during the pre-Columbian era. It has a coral reef which will be great for snorkeling. All meals included.

Day 5

Osa Peninsula - San José - Arenal
After breakfast, boat back to Sierpe and land transfer to Palmar Sur, to take the domestic flight to San José. Upon arrival, private transfer to Arenal Volcano. Overnight at hotel in Arenal.

Day 6

Arenal Hanging Bridges
Located within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rain forest. You will be able to walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing hanging bridges and the beautiful trails that are safe and easy to walk on. In the evening, visit the rejuvenating hot springs for a fabulous and healing bath then enjoy a relaxing, included dinner.

Day 7

Arenal - Monteverde
Shuttle bus to Monteverde. Afternoon, at leisure. Overnight at Trapp Family Lodge or El Establo Hotel.

Day 8

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
Wind-sculptured elfin woodlands on the exposed ridges are spectacularly dwarfed, whereas protected cove Monteverde rainforests have majestically tall trees festooned with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines and mosses. Poorly drained areas support swamp forests, while parts of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, dissected by deep gorges, have numerous crystal clear streams tumbling over rapids and waterfalls. The variable climate and large altitudinal gradient have helped produce an extremely high biodiversity. Spectacular wildlife includes the Jaguar, Ocelot, Baird’s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Bare-necked Umbrella and Resplendent Quetzal—considered by ornithologists as the most beautiful bird in the Western Hemisphere.

Day 9

Monteverde - Manuel Antonio
After breakfast, shuttle bus transfer to Manuel Antonio National Park. Overnight at hotel in Manuel Antonio.

Day 10

Manuel Antonio
Visit to Manuel Antonio National Park. The 3,000-acre Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Costa Rica. With its white sand beaches, abundant fauna, exuberant flora and scenic footpaths, it is frequently visited. It includes a wooded area densely populated by monkeys and raccoons, and three exceptionally beautiful beaches. Manuel Antonio is one of the few areas in which the rare squirrel monkey can be found. The footpaths pass through the secondary forest and primary forest. Overnight in Manuel Antonio.

Day 11

Manuel Antonio
Day of leisure to enjoy the town and its beautiful beaches.

Day 12

After breakfast, shuttle bus transfer to San José International Airport to take the flight back home (or add another night in San José if morning flight back home).
