Description Pricing Itinerary

The Las Carreras Jesuit Estancia is located in Tucumán province, in the northwest region of the Argentine Republic. It leans on the bottom of majestic hills that climb and fall between 8,530 and 14,764 feet. It is a beautiful place, where you can revisit the past where times were simpler and peaceful. The antique manor was built by the Jesuits around the year 1718, becoming a historical place of Latin America.

The Estancia was enlarged and renovated to provide the comfort that you are looking for, yet respects the careful style of such a noble construction. In 1779, it was acquired by a Frias Silva ancestor, to whom it still belongs. With almost 230 years, it is one of the oldest mansions in the Alchaqui valley, being an example of the great culture that has survived and been passed down. The estate was completely built with materials from the local area (adobe, straw, cane, alders). With the typical construction of the architecture of that time, all the rooms lead into central yards. The rooms have been decorated with typical regional weaves, trying to reflect 3 periods of the Valley’s history: the one of the first population, the Inca and the colonial one.
