Close to San Rafael, this beautiful colonial house was built in 1830, with 4,000 hectares of vineyards and fruit trees. Horseback riding is available year-round. Originally built as a fortified ranch, it now serves as an exclusive inn. It has a style which retains its traditional way of life. This family owned ranch has been a source of inspiration for many writers and painters who have left their legacy of original works of art which are displayed throughout the grounds. The spacious rooms are decorated with paintings and tapestries which transport you to a world of magic. The rooms have been kept as they were built, with adobe walls, colonial furniture, and fireplaces. Today, the fifth generation of Aldao Bombal hosts their guests with the same warmth. You can enjoy barbecues overlooking the vines, aperitifs at the swimming pool, and candle lit dinners in the main dining room.

The Labyrinth: In the Finca tha Alamos the most remarkable labyrinth is being grown in homage to Jorge Luis Borges: seven thousand bushes of Buxus Sempervirens cover a surface of almost two hectares, forming a gigantic open book with winding paths that draw the name of the writer, his preferred symbols and the initials of María Kodama. This is the largest labyrinth in America.

The Vineyards: When Domingo Bombal Ugarte bought the finca Los Alamos, he began the transformation of the farmer estancia into an estate dedicated to viniculture. As of 1830 he has produced wine with grapes from his own vineyards. His descendants employ 72 hectares to grow four varieties of red grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Syrah, and of white grapes: Chardonnay and Pinot Loire, and today they are counted among the main premium grape producers in San Rafael. The grapes of The Alamos are hand Harvested, respecting the right moment for each of the varieties to produce the best possible wines. You will also enjoy home-made food, where the chef and hostess combines family recipes with books, magazines and television “rescues”, until it becomes an ultra personal which is not “nouvel cuisine” nor “criolla”.

The facilities offers five double rooms with private bathroom, two apartments with two rooms each with sharing bathroom, three living rooms, dinning room and swimming pool.
