The world class Inn has 13 rooms with bright and striking décor of hand printed murals and lush Costa Rican hardwood interiors surrounded by exquisite indoor and outdoor gardens.
During your stay at Finca Rosa Blanca Plantation & Inn visit the coffee farm to participate in the picking, processing, and roasting of Finca Rosa Blanca sustainable coffee while the guide explains the process and history of coffee.
Travel outside of the Plantation to Barava Volcano to explore the magnificent park and hike the many trails that lead to various crater lagoons. Also take a trip to Carara National Park, a relatively small national park that has both a tropical cry forest region to the north and a humid Pacific rainforest to the south. Here explore the differing ecosystems and look for various flora and fauna including the rare Scarlet Macaw.
Take an afternoon on the Plantation to explore the land by horseback tour where the Inn’s horse wrangler and expert bi-lingual guide will share their knowledge of the nature and the culture of the volcanoes and highlands of Costa Rica, as well as the local villages.
Day 1
Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn
Fly in to San Jose, Costa Rica. Following your airport reception transfer to the Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn. .
This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner on the decks of El Tigre Vestido Restaurant and Bar Buho over looking views of the plantation, lush gardens, and the Central Valley below.
Day 2
Coffee Plantation Tour
This morning enjoy a guided tour of the coffee plantation. Experience coffee through the ages; learn how coffee was discovered, traded, and consumed. Afterward, stroll the lanes of the organic sustainable coffee plantation and learn the entire process of organic cultivation and harvest, including participating in the picking of coffee during our harvest season (October through January). We will then take you through the processing of coffee, including cleaning and drying the berries, ending with roasting your own coffee in our roasting and packing house. After returning to the Inn, enjoy lunch at the El Tigre Vestido Restaurant.
Barva Volcano
This afternoon explore Barva Volcano. This volcano is one of many located in the Central Valley and offers exquisite hikes and trails to various carter lagoons. During your visit look for local wildlife including the white-faced monkey, and red spider monkey. Footprints of jaguars, tapirs, coyotes, and peccary can be seen crossing the paths as well. The area is ideal for bird watchers as there have been reports of more than 80 species of birds observed including the fabulous quetzal, and bonking bell bird.
Day 3
Carara National Park
Today we take a tour of the Carara National Park. Relatively small in size, the significance of Carara National Park stems from its geographical location in a transition area between the tropical dry forest region of the north, and the more humid Pacific rainforest to the south. Carara National Park has wildlife from both ecosystems and the virgin forests that cover most of the park are ideal environments for rare wildlife such as the scarlet macaws, and collared aracari. Located within the park is Costa Rica's tallest waterfall, the Bijagual Waterfall, here there is the opportunity to swim in the deliciously refreshing spring-fed pools of the falls.
Day 4
This morning your guide meets you at the Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn to transfer you to the airport for your next adventure or to connect with your flight home.
