An 8-day and 7- night cruise will take you aboard the luxury ship Grand Amazon on a magical and memorable cruise along the Amazon, Rio Negro and Rio Solimőes, offering comfort and service in every respect. We will make stops at the Tres Bocas flooded forest and learn about the Amazon through daily presentations. Adventure-seekers will have the opportunity to see indigenous plants, trees and pink dolphins, and even meet an indigenous community on Rio Cuieiras, which is made up of friendly and hospitable people. We will explore deep in the Amazon with excursions on and off land to the “igarapes” (river creeks) and “igapos” (flooded forests) of the Amazon. At night, you will have the opportunity to spot alligators aboard the ship and have a drink on the rooftop bar. This rainforest experience is ideal for those looking for adventure with all the comfort of a floating, five-star hotel.

The 72 cabins are situated on three different decks – Mandi, Acará and Tambaqui. Cabins are equipped with private bathrooms, twin beds, private balcony, TV, telephone, hair dryer, air-conditioning and radio.

Day 1

Sunday
In Manaus, we will check in and settle into our rooms. Enjoy the sunset on the rooftop with classical music. We depart toward Rio Negro, passing Ponta Negra, a crescent- shaped sandy beach. Welcome cocktails and presentation of the officers and crew follows. Welcome dinner at the Kaurup Restaurant. After dinner, we will have live music and dancing or the option to have drinks on the rooftop.

Day 2

Monday
Wake up while passing through Manacapurú harbor forest and a sunrise-lovers breakfast on the upper deck or in the Kuarup Restaurant. After breakfast, we go trekking through Jaraquí and then take boat trips through “igarapés.” Before lunch, go watch a presentation called Introduction to Amazônia in the meeting room. In the afternoon, we will take more boat excursions to the “igapós” or large flooded forests in the Tres Bocas region. Relax and watch the sunset while listening to classical music. After dinner, we can listen to music, have a drink under the stars on the rooftop or try to spot alligators.

Day 3

Tuesday
We’ll visit the “botos” or pink river dolphins as well as trek and boat through the “igarapés” and “igapós” of Novo Airăo. We can have lunch at Kuarup Restaurant or on the rooftop buffet. A presentation on the fish of Amazônia will be given. After lunch, we take boat trips through lakes and “igapós” from Archipelago Anavilhanas. Have a night of leisure listening to music or looking at the stars.

Day 4

Wednesday
After a breakfast on the upper deck or in the restaurant, we will visit an indigenous community at Rio Cuieiras. A lecture on the birds of Amazônia will be given before lunch. We will take a boat excursion through the lakes of Rio Negro where we can fish for piranha and watch birds. We will have a special farewell captain’s dinner at the restaurant. We will also watch a regional folklore show, with music and dancing to follow, with the rooftop bar open.rooftop bar open as well.

Day 5

Thursday
Enjoy a sunrise-lovers breakfast and watch the meeting of the waters or “encontro das águas.” Relax as we pass through Manaus to head for Rio Solimőes. Enjoy the sunset on the rooftop with classical music. We’ll have dinner in the Kaurup Restaurant. After dinner, live music and dancing or the option to have drinks on the rooftop.

Day 6

Friday
Wake up to a sunrise-lovers’ breakfast on the rooftop or choose to have breakfast in the restaurant. We will go trekking through the region of Lake Manacapurú. In this area, we will go bird watching and piranha fishing, and explore the “igarapés” and “igapós,” unique narrow jungle streams and flooded forests of the Amazon. We will also see a presentation on the plants and fruits of Amazônia. Lunch in the restaurant or at the snack buffet on the rooftop. After lunch, we will take boat trips through the lakes and “igarapés” of the Manaquirí region. Spend a leisurely night on the boat having dinner, listening to music and spotting alligators.

Day 7

Saturday
Before breakfast, we will take an excursion to Lake Janauacá for an exploration of the birds in the region. Later in the day, we take a boat trip through the “igarapés” to visit the local village of Caboclo. After the trip, a presentation on the people and culture of Amazônia will be given. Lunch will be served on the rooftop and in the restaurant. An afternoon of relaxation will be followed by a boat trip through the lakes and “igapós” of Janauarí. We will then enjoy a spectacular sunset on the roof with classical music and a special captain’s dinner in the Kuarup Restaurant. After dinner, the night will continue with a traditional folklore show, with music and dancing late into the night. Watch the stars while having a drink from the rooftop bar.

Day 8

Sunday
Sunshine, water and the Amazon will greet you in the morning for your final breakfast aboard the Grand Amazon. Watch the “encontro das águas,” the meeting of the Rio Negro and the Amazon River. Upon arrival in Manaus, we dock and check out.
