This fantastic trip takes you to the most beautiful and traditional Haciendas in the countryside of Ecuador. We will stay at the Hacienda San Luis near the town of Zuleta. We will also visit the famous Indian market in Otavalo and stay at the Hacienda Pinsaqui, and stay at Hacienda La Cienega near the Cotopaxi National Park. The entire program is in a private car or van with an English-speaking guide and driver.
Day 1
Departing from Quito, we will drive north to Cayambe and then continue up to the Mojanda Lakes at 3,800 meters above sea level, where we will have the chance to “catch” our lunch. We will fish for trout, which we will eat grilled beside the lake. The tour continues with a trip to the town of Zuleta, famous for its beautiful weavings. We will then stay overnight at Hacienda San Luis. Barbeque dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast, we will visit the famous Indian market in Otavalo. We will have lunch at Hacienda Cusin before visiting the waterfall at Peguche and the town of Iluman. We will stay overnight at the local colonial Hacienda Pinsaqui.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will drive south to Cotopaxi National Park. After lunch at Hacienda La Cienega, we will visit a flower plantation and the San Augustin Del Callo hacienda. Overnight at La Cienega.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will drive to Ambato and on to Bańos, visiting these cities and their surroundings before lunching at a local hotel. In the afternoon, we will arrive in the Patate Valley, where we will be able to help out at milking time on a local farm. We’ll stay overnight in a local hacienda.
Day 5
After breakfast, enjoy a hike in the countryside and visit a local farm, where tomatoes, babacos and other fruits of the region are grown before we begin our return journey to Quito. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 6
Transfer to the airport or choose from optional excursions.
