This amazing spiritual adventure will take you on a pilgrimage of the various places of worship of the Incas. As you learn of their ancient rituals, we will seek to purify and energize our souls and bodies. The pilgrimage is led by a master Shaman who will guide us through the traditions, mysteries, and healing ceremonies of Andean shamanism and the indigenous culture. During our tour we will experience Cuzco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley much as the Incas did. Join us on an authentic and unforgettable adventure as we travel the illuminating path of these native Andean healers. This is a fully private tour with a master Shaman, private bilingual guide, and private transportation.

Recently, following UNESCO recommendations, Peruvian authorities have placed restrictions on the visitation of Machu Picchu, the lost Incan ruins. Currently, no more than 2,500 people daily will be allowed to visit the ruins. While these new restrictions are great for the preservation of the ruins, they may cause some difficulties in your ability to visit them, so we recommend booking with plenty of notice.

This trip can be customized to fit your individual travel dates and any specific requests you may have. Your travel consultant will prepare a customized itinerary for you. We offer a choice of 3, 4, 5-star and deluxe hotels. The Deluxe option is with the Orient Express hotels: the Sanctuary Lodge in Machu Picchu, Monasterio in Cuzco and the Park Plaza in Lima. You may also choose to upgrade to the luxury Hiram Bingham train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu.

This tour includes airfare allowance from Miami (US), on non-holiday dates. You do not need to fly via Miami; Yampu will fly you the most direct way to your city of destination. Depending on your travel dates and proximity of travel, we will quote you the most economical surcharge from your city or country of origin.

Day 1

Overnight flight to Lima.

Day 2

Arrival in Lima and immediate connection with the flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
Note: check-in is normally after 2 pm. Early check-in may be granted subject to availability (not confirmed).

Day 3

Morning walking tour of Cuzco where you will visit the Korikancha Temple or Temple of the Sun and the Cathedral and its Art Museum. After your visits, you will continue to the nearby water shrine of Tambomachay (the Inca Fountains), Puca Pucara (the Red Fortress), the amphitheater of Kenko and finally the Sacsahuaman Fortress. After the tour, return to your hotel.
Note: Because of the altitude in Cuzco, we recommend that this tour be done privately at your own pace, at an additional cost of $28 per person, based on two people.

Evening presentation by our Master Shaman. He will introduce the principles of Andean cosmogony and its sacred elements. We will start the ritual of purification and request the due permission to the entities and to the Apus or Sacred Peaks (mountains), to start the pilgrimage to the temples and sacred places that we will visit.

Day 4

We will commence the pilgrimage in the morning. We will celebrate the “Tinkuy” or encounter with the Gods and the contact with the three worlds of the Andean cosmogony: Hanan Paccha, Kaypaccha and Hucqu Paccha. We will then commence the Inca spiritual route, starting with the Temple of Tambomachay. Here, we will do the ritual of purification of the seven “charkas” in the fountains of energy (the seven chakras represent everything around us. The Inca flag has seven colors, the color red being oneself. The other colors represent what is on your right, left, in front, behind, above and beneath). This ritual is similar to a baptism.

We will then proceed to the Fortress of Puca Pucara and the Temple of Laqo (Temple of the Moon), where we will focus our energy at the great altar. Then we will head toward the Altar of Kusilluchayo’q, where we will give an offering to the Pachamama or Mother Earth, and the funerary Temple of Qenqo, which has the important meaning of life after death. Lastly, we will visit the gigantic observatory of Sacsayhuaman, where we will meditate and focus our energy at the Eye of the Puma.

Day 5

Morning transfer to the train station to head toward Aguas Calientes at the foot of the citadel. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Afternoon guided visit to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu, considered the essence of wisdom. We will end the visit with a prayer of thankfulness to the Andean Gods for the marvels of the citadel. Evening relaxation at the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.

Note: Government regulations limit the number of visitors to Machu Picchu daily. Entrance is subject to availability. Please book with plenty of notice so we may confirm your entrance to the ruins for today and tomorrow.

Day 6

Early morning, we return to Machu Picchu to make our offering at the Ritual of the Sun and give thanks to the Inti Father, or Sun God. We will then trek to the sacred peak of Huayna Picchu (a moderately difficult trek) to conclude our offering to the elements of the Wind and the Fire.

At night, we will do the ancient Payment to the earth ceremony in the village. “Pachamama,” or Mother Earth, has an important role in Andean beliefs in some parts of South America, including native territories in southern Peru. Here, related customs date back to Pre-Inca times, when inhabitants of this area believed that Pachamama was the protective divinity and giver of life. To thank her for the blessings she bestows, the custom of celebrating the mystical “Payment to the Earth” ritual lives on. It is led by an Andean priest (called Shaman) to pay her homage for everything she provides us. The setting is decorated with a carpet of flowers, cereals from the highlands, coca leaves, precious metals and a variety of elements from nature that will be buried in the earth as an offering. The guests live the emotional experience and spiritual curing process that the essence of the “Payment to the Earth” ritual provides. The power of the “Payment to the Earth” ritual enables participants to enter a mystic, divine space in Andean beliefs at Machu Picchu, the heart of the Inca culture. Overnight. Note: Huayna Picchu also has government restrictions on amount of hikers allowed on the trail daily. Please book with plenty of notice so we may confirm your hike.

Day 7

Morning hike toward Mandor Pampa, a historic place near the citadel since this was where Hiram Bingham first arrived in his search for the Lost City of the Incas. Afternoon, return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Ollantaytambo, where we will catch a bus to take us to the town of Yucay. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 8

Morning visit to the Temple of Ollantaytambo or the Temple of Love, to thank the Andean Gods and give another offering to the Pachamama and the divine entities. Then we will go to the huge laboratory in Moray, used for agricultural purposes in Inca times. Afternoon, return to Cuzco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 9

Morning visit to the citadel of Pickillacta, to the canals of Tipon and, to finalize the sacred circuit, we will do the ceremony at the sacred lagoon of Huarpacay, where we will make a final offering to the mother Cocha. Afternoon free.

Day 10

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima and connect with the flight back home.
