Overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro.
Day 2
Friday
Upon arrival in Rio, transfer to your hotel. Afternoon of leisure. Note: Check-in is normally after 2 p.m. Early check-in may be granted, subject to availability (not confirmed.)
Day 3
Saturday
Full-day tour of Sugar Loaf, Corcovado Mountain and Tijuca rainforest. Drive along Rio’s famous beaches to the Praia Vermelha cable car station, where you will be taken to the Urca Mountain (mid-way station) with its gardens and lookout points. The second part of the ride will take you to the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain, 1,300 feet above sea level. Continue to the Cosme Velho train station. The cogwheel train will climb up through the Tijuca rainforest and will bring you to the steps of the Christ the Redeemer statue. At 2,300 feet above sea level, it is a breathtaking view of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the nine-mile Rio-Niterói Bridge, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. Lunch included.

Day 4
Sunday
Day free to enjoy Rio, or choose from one of our optional day tours.
Tonight, enjoy Rio by night! The night tour includes dinner at a barbecue restaurant followed by a Brazilian music presentation at Rio Scenarium. Rio Scenarium is one of the premier places to listen to the best of Brazilian music. Located in Lapa, where the real carioca spirit of bohemian way of life can be felt. This venue is an antique shop during the day and a live music bar during the night. The programming changes every month. The clients are sophisticated listeners who really enjoy good music. After the show, around midnight, return to the hotel stuffed with tunes.

Day 5
Monday
Morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Manaus. In Manaus, we will check in at the front desk and settle into our rooms. Enjoy the sunset on the rooftop with classical music. Departure toward Rio Negro, passing Ponta Negra, a crescent-shaped sandy beach. Welcome cocktails and presentation of the officers and crew follows. Welcome dinner at the Kaurup Restaurant. After dinner, we will have live music and dancing or the option of drinks on the rooftop.
Day 6
Tuesday
Wake up while passing through Manacapurú harbor forest and a sunrise lovers breakfast on the upper deck or in the Kuarup Restaurant. After breakfast we go trekking through Jaraquí and then take boat trips through “igarapés” or narrow forest streams. Before lunch, you may watch a presentation called Introduction to Amazônia in the meeting room. In the afternoon, we will take more boat excursions to the “igapós“ or large flooded forests in the Tres Bocas region. Relax and watch the sunset while listening to classical music. After dinner, we can listen to music, have a drink under the stars on the rooftop or try to spot alligators.
Day 7
Wednesday
We’ll visit the “botos” or pink river dolphins, and go trekking and boating through the “igarapés” and “igapós” of Novo Airăo. We can have lunch at Kuarup Restaurant or on the rooftop buffet. A presentation on the fish of Amazônia will be made. After lunch, we take boat trips through lakes and rivers from Archipelago Anavilhanas. Have a night of leisure, listening to music or looking at the stars.
Day 8
Thursday
After a breakfast on the upper deck or in the restaurant, we will visit an indigenous community at Rio Cuieiras. A lecture on the birds of Amazônia will be given before lunch. We will take a boat excursion through the lakes of Rio Negro where we can fish for piranha and bird watch. We will have a special farewell captain’s dinner at the restaurant. We will also watch a regional folklore show with music and dance to follow, with the rooftop bar open.
Day 9
Friday
Enjoy a sunrise-lovers breakfast and watch the meeting of the waters or “encontro das águas,” the meeting of Rio Solimőes and Rio Negro. Relax as we glide into Manaus and check out. Transfer to Manaus and then to the airport to take the flight to Sao Paulo. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 10
Saturday
Morning of leisure in Sao Paulo, a city with great museums, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Afternoon, transfer to the airport to take the flight back home. Note: Hotel check-out is at 12 p.m. Late check-out may be granted the same day, subject to availability. Transfer to airport for international flights back home or overlap with add-on program.
