Day 1
Nairobi
Overnight flight to Nairobi.
Day 2
Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where your car and driver will meet you and take you to the House of Waine in Karen, a quiet, 11 bedroom property on 2.5 acres that blends colonial elegance with traditional Maasai colors and patterns.
Day 3
Nairobi – Chyulu National Park
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Wilson airport to catch your scheduled flight to the Chyulus. You'll be met by your private guide and driver (from Ol Donyo Wuas) and transferred back to your lodge with ample time to settle in before lunch. Located on the slopes below Chyulu National Park, halfway between Amboseli and Tsavo, Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge looks out on Mt. Kilimanjaro and the sort of open savannahs that Kenya's come to be known for.
Ol Donyo Wuas promotes conservation, sustainability and the protection of the wildlife in the area through a well-thought out community program.
Day 4
Chyulu National Park
At Chyulu National Park, you'll go on day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles. It's common to see elephants close to the lodge, and two elephants, in particular, never stray far from Chyulu's waterholes. The park's lion and cheetah concentrations are on the rise, and its (endangered) black rhino populations are secure. Between game drives, try bush walks and wildlife tracking with Maasai trackers. Bush breakfasts set on plains under an acacia tree and cooked on an open fire will make your morning.
Day 5
Chyulu National Park
Head out again on day and night game drives and search out animals you haven’t seen yet. After the morning game drive, many guests choose to watch the elephants beside the camp’s waterhole. You could also visit Maasai villages and find out more about their traditions and culture. Round that off with half- or full-day horse safari through some of the most superior riding country, anywhere. (The horse safari is suitable for novices and advanced riders alike.)
Day 6
Chyulu National Park – Nairobi – Laikipia Plateau
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airstrip to catch the scheduled Safarilink flight back to Nairobi and connect to the Safarilink flight to the Loisaba airstrip. You will be met at the airstrip by your private guide, who will take back to Ol Malo to settle in before lunch. 'Ol Malo' means “the place of the Greater Kudu,” and the land that surrounds the lodge lives up to its name.
Day 7
Laikipia Plateau
Wake up to see the awe inspiring sunrise, framing the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kenya. Celebrate the new day with a dawn ride into the wilderness to view the animals as they awake. Feel the night’s chill burn off with the rising of the great equatorial sun while enjoying a bush breakfast. Explore the region seeking out the local wildlife.
Day 8
Laikipia Plateau
Spend another day on safari, enjoying the scenery and observing the local animals. Keep the tempo of the world by the roll of the camel’s stride. Visit the colorful Samburu nomads of the North and sink with the dying sun into the waters of the pool. At night luxuriate in the peace and comfort of Ol Malo and tune into the magical sounds of wild Africa while dining under an ancient starscape.
Day 9
Laikipia Plateau – Olare Orok Conservancy
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your scheduled Safarilink flight to the Mara (11:50 h) Met at the airstrip (approximately a one hour flight) by your guide from Ol Seki Mara Camp. Transferred to Ol Seki Mara Camp where you will be able to get settled into your tent before lunch. Set on large, dramatic rocks, overlooking the sweeping Isupukiai River, Ol Seki Mara Camp enjoys panoramic views in a gorgeous wilderness setting teeming with game.
Day 10
The Olare Orok Conservancy
Located in Eastern Koiyaki, north of the Masai Mara game reserve, Ol Seki provides a rare opportunity to enjoy wildlife viewing in a pristine setting. Track Big Five animals and an abundance of other wildlife and birds, many of which are seen from the tents in the valley below.
Day 11
The Olare Orok Conservancy
Last safari day. Take the opportunity to hunt for any animals you may not have seen yet and enjoy the amenities of camp including elegant candle lit dinners, romantic dining for couples, bush picnics, sundowners out on the plains and a resident masseuse – a delight for all senses. With privacy in mind, the ambience of the traditional mobile safari camp has been extended to heights never dreamed of in this peaceful and magical setting.
