An extended look at South-East Asia’s paragons of urban progress. You’ll have a full five days to explore all aspects of what makes Kuala Lumpur and Singapore two of the most exciting cities in the world. Taste everything from the renowned Hawker Centers in Singapore to a steaming bowl of spicy Laksa in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown. With senses (and stomachs) fully sated, head over to Malaysian Borneo for a luxury immersion into the flora, fauna and traditional Iban culture that dominate the deep jungles of the island.

Singapore and Kuala Lumpur offer an unequaled experience for this pocket of Asia. On this tour, enjoy an orientation to the cities that will leave you in awe as you stroll past old world architectural splendors that stand among the ultra modern high rises. These are places where differences are encouraged, embraced and celebrated from all who lives there.

The next leg of the tour starts and finishes in Kuching, the largest city in Malaysian Borneo. Kuching is peaceful, relaxed, and feels much more like a small town. Stroll the picturesque waterfront, explore the open air markets, or visit one of the small, free museums. From Kuching you will travel by car and boat to reach the luxurious Hilton Batang Longhouse Resort. While at the resort you will have ample time to relax, enjoying the natural jungle scenery surrounding the resort. You will also explore the river on a long boat, and visit the Orangutan Center.

Day 1

Overnight international flight to Singapore.

Day 2

Upon arrival in Singapore, airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3

Morning bumboat ride along the Singapore River. The Singapore River is a small river with great historical importance, as it is the place where the British established the first trading port in the area. The ride will end at Merlion Park at the Esplanade Bridge. At Merlion Park, come face to face with Singapore’s iconic Merlion statue, which is set in the foreground of the elegant Marina Bay Sands building.

The tour continues with a drive around the Civic District past the Padang Cricket Club, Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall. The next stop will be at one of the oldest and most important Hokkien temples in Singapore, the Thain Hock Keng Temple. The temple was built in traditional southern Chinese style with tiles, dragons, phoenixes, amazing curves, intricate sculptures and imposing columns. The next and final stop of the day is at the National Orchid Garden, which boasts a colorful display of 60,000 orchid plants, with 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids represented. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Day 4

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5

Enjoy a privately guided morning tour of Kuala Lumpur’s city highlights. This orientation to the city will mesmerize you as you see both the historic architectural splendors and the ultra modern buildings in the city’s Golden Triangle. Highlights of this tour include a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers, the local handicraft center and cocoa boutique, the King’s Palace, the National Monument, National Museum and the National Mosque (entrance fees not included in this tour).

In the evening, enjoy a tour through the open air bazaar of Chinatown, which includes an impressive Hindu temple and a sumptuous Malay styled dinner with a cultural show. The smell of burning jasmine, incessant chanting of Hindu priests, intricate carved deities and the mystical aura combine to give you lasting impression of this religion at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. Then, take a stroll through Chinatown’s night market, where the locals engage in hectic bargaining for merchandises spread across the streets. Later, proceed to a Malay Restaurant for buffet where a sumptuous local dishes and delicacies await you. After dinner and the cultural show, return to your hotel for the night.

Day 6

Morning half day tour to the city outskirts along the ‘Ambassador Row’, Istana Sharif Ali and Malay Villages. A stop at the Royal Selangor Pewter will feature the largest and most modern pewter factory in the world, reputed internationally for its high quality and craftsmanship. You will be shown the different processes, such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving during this factory tour. Next, stop at Batik Factory to see how Batik is designed and printed, which is a type of traditional cloth.

The last stop will be at the limestone hills of Batu Caves that is comprised of three caverns and several smaller caves. It is the shrine of Lord Murugah, a Hindu deity, with a flight of 272 steps leading up to the temple cave. Another cave, called the museum cave, is filled with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from the Hindu scriptures. Afterwards, return to your hotel in the city and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuching. Upon arrival, airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 8

Depart for Batang Ai. The journey takes approximately 4 hours by car, and lunch will be served en-route. Upon arrival in Batang Ai, take a short ferry to the Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Check in to hotel, and spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. Enjoy dinner tonight at the resort.

Day 9

After breakfast, embark on a native longboat for a day of exploration and sightseeing along the Ulu Ai River. You will enjoy an eco-picnic while exploring the jungle. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 10

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and a morning of relaxation before returning to Kuching. On the way back to Kuching, stop at Semenggoh Orangutan Center to see the feeding of the Orangutans. Lunch will be served along the way. Upon arrival in Kuching, transfer to your hotel.

Day 11

Enjoy your morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to Singapore to connect with your flight home or continue with the Yampu Tours add-on of your choice.

Although yellow fever is not a disease risk in Malaysia, the government requires travelers arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever virus transmission to present proof of yellow fever vaccination.
