A journey to explore the country and its outstanding wines. Arrive in the cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, and soak into its history and current wine scenario. Fly to the province of Mendoza, into the diverse oasis of winemaking: the Central Valleys and the high terroirs of the Uco Valley. The incredible Andean landscape will be an amazing frame during our entire stay. Lodge at exclusive, countryside retreats. Cycle and ride on horseback throughout the vineyards. Dine at Argentina’s most renowned chefs’ own private venues, and state-of- the- art wineries. Lay back and enjoy the landscape of this marvelous land at the foothill of the Andes.

We offer a choice of 3, 4, 5-star and deluxe hotels. The Deluxe option is the Alvear Palace or Four Seasons. Please inquire about these options with one of our Travel Consultant. In Mendonza, we will be staying at Salestein Posada and Club Tapiz, the cozy Posadas of the vineyards we will visit during this trip.

Day 1

Buenos Aires
Upon arrival to the airport in Buenos Aires, transfer to your hotel. A brief orientation meeting will be held at the hotel to meet your guide and review the itinerary before setting out on an afternoon tour of the city’s historic neighborhoods. At late afternoon, we will make a stop at one of the city’s finest wine bars and get acquainted with the superb Argentine Malbecs. This evening we will enjoy a private wine tasting before enjoying dinner and a Tango Show at one of Buenos Aires’ most authentic Tango venues (dinner included).

Day 2

Buenos Aires
After breakfast, we will visit the traditional Recoleta neighborhood, with its sparkling cafes & restaurants. Later on, we will bike ride along the Buenos Aires Ecological Reserve. Our ride ends by the city’s modern waterfront, where we will have lunch (included) at one of Buenos Aires great steak houses. The rest of the day will be left at leisure to walk around this amazing city, its museums and parks.
Cycling: 2.30 hours, strenuous. Terrain: flat- mostly on paved roads.

Day 3

Buenos Aires – Mendoza (Uco Valley)
Morning transfer to Buenos Aires domestic airport to board an early flight to Mendoza, center of Argentina’s wine making. Upon arrival, transfer to Uco Valley to the exclusive Posada at Salentein Winery (Half Board). We will have lunch at Killka, the Bodega’s Restaurant and Art Space. In the afternoon, we will visit the Salentein Winery, and you will get to choose on horseback ride through the Andean foothills, or cycling at the vineyards, or just relax at the lodge, enjoying superb views of the Tupungato Massif (22,375 feet).

Day 4

Uco Valley
Morning bike to one of the valley’s finest wineries: Clos de los Siete, a joint wine adventure initiated a few years back by the world famous French winemaker Michel Rolland. Enjoy a typical argentine Asado (barbecue) delicious Empanadas (meat pies) and the Bodega’s exquisite blend, while you gaze at the magnificent Andes in the background. Afternoon bike to La Azul, a small Boutique, producer of outstanding Malbecs.
Total Biking distance: 19 mi to 30 mi. Terrain: flat- mostly on paved roads.

Day 5

Central Valleys of Mendoza
Morning transfer north, to the province’s central valleys. Bike on secondary roads to Catena Zapata Winery. Again on our bikes to Ruca Malen for lunch at the winery (included). Afternoon meeting with Mr. Carmelo Patti, one of Argentina’s most renowned enologists, who will share his wine making secrets through some Barrel Tasting of his artisan wines Lodge at Club Tapiz. Located in an estancia built in 1890 and surrounded by ten hectares of vineyards, the house was restored preserving its Renaissance- style Villa structure and maintaining vintage elements. Overnight stay at Club Tapiz Lodge.
Note:
1. Depending on the time of the year, cycling activity could be replaced for a visit to Familia Bonfanti boutique vineyards. 2. Tonight, dinner will be on your own. You have several options: A transfer to centric part of town will be provided for those who want to get a hint of the city. Those who prefer to stay at the lodge can have dinner at Terruño, the lodge’s superb restaurant.

Day 6

Central Valleys of Mendoza
Morning biking to award winning winery Achaval Ferrer. Only a few years into the market, its wines consistently receive 90 + punctuations in Wine Spectator. During today’s lunch we sample the local delicatessen at Almacen del Sur. Afternoon leisure at the lodge. Evening visit to centric Mendoza, and farewell dinner at “1884”, where Chef Francis Mallman blends the finest culinary traditions of France and South America. Overnight stay at Club Tapiz Lodge- Mendoza (All meals included).

Day 7

Mendoza - Buenos Aires
Morning transfer to Mendoza airport to board flight back to Buenos Aires.
