Day 1
Car to Mina de San Francisco/Trek to Aldea Takesi
Private transportation from La Paz to the San Francisco mine (2.5 hours). This trek begins with a beautiful, well-preserved Inca trail. Two hours' uphill trek to the Takesi summit (4,650 m/15,246 ft). From here on everything is downhill following the canyon, passing first the village of Takesi (3 hours), from where the green vegetation appears. One hour further we find our camp site, at the banks of the Takesi river at 3,400 m/11,152 ft. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 2
Trek to Mina Chojlla
The trek goes down and for the first hour the Pre - Inca path is well-preserved, even with their drainage systems. It then continues downhill until we reach Cacapi (3 hours and 2,600 m/8,528 ft), where the vegetation is already subtropical, with banana, papaya and coca leaves. It continues going down until we pass the river, then we climb a small hill and head down again until we pass the river again (2 hours). We then find the water pools that supply water to the Chojlla mine, where the our camp is located . (2,400 m/7,872 ft ) Lunch and dinner included.
Day 3
Trek to Puente Villa
Walking on the road and seeing the remains of the tin mine of La Chojlla, we reach Yanacachi (2 hours). From here we commence a 5 hour-hike, passing the village of Mocori and great coca, coffee and citric plantations, until we reach Puente Villa (1,100 m/3,608 ft), where the Tamampaya hotel is located. This is a beautiful place to rest and recover our energy. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 4
Puente Villa/La Paz
Morning at leisure to enjoy the peace and energy of the place. After lunch, private transportation to La Paz (3 hours). Lunch included.
