This basic tour includes the must-see destinations in Peru. We will spend 2 days in Cuzco a city built, according to Inca legend, by Sapa Inca Pachacuti who transformed a sleepy city-state into the vast empire of Tahuantinsuyu; 2 days in Lima, the colonial capital of Peru and a wildly upcoming culinary destination; and enjoy an overnight in the magical Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. You may also choose to add from a large variety of Yampu's side trips to visit Lake Titicaca, the Amazon, Colca Canyon, or the mysterious Nazca Lines.

This popular Yampu trip includes Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu as well as an extension to Lake Titicaca. According to legend the first Inca, known as Manco Capac, rose from the waters of Lake Titicaca under the orders of the Sun God, to start the Inca Empire in and around Cuzco. At this mysterious lake, we will visit the floating islands of the Uros Indian tribes who remain today living in the same way their ancestors lived in Inca times, the Island of Taquile, and the amazing ruins of Sillustani, a pre-Incan burial ground. You will spend 4 days in Machu Picchu and Cuzco, 2 days in Lima, and 2 days near Lake Titicaca.

This classic Peru tour with the Sacred Valley includes the main highlights of Peru: Lima, Cuzco and Machu Picchu. At the end of this tour there is extra time in the Sacred Valley to visit the popular Pisac Market; the ruins at Ollantaytambo, the best surviving example of Inca town planning; and the possibility of exploring the nearby towns of Calca, Urubamba, and Chinchero in the Sacred Valley, or enjoy an adventure tour. This area was largely important to the Incas because of its agreeable climate and fertile plains. The region also protected Cuzco from fierce jungle tribes who would occasionally raid the highlands.

This trip begins in Lima before traveling to Nazca. Once in Nazca, we will take a flight over the enormous ancient calendar of the Incas drawn in the desert sand, and cruise to the Ballesta Isles to see the sea lions, penguins, and several species of birds. We then travel to the Inca Capital of Cuzco to take an unforgettable train ride to Machu Picchu.
