The fearsome Komodo Dragon was only discovered by western scientists in 1910, but they are believed to have been in existence back to pre-historic times. Growing upwards of ten feet and weighing nearly 650 pounds, these impressive cannibalistic reptiles survive solely on flesh and meat. Found only in the far eastern reaches of Indonesia, these animals only inhabit the islands of Rinca and Komodo.
