Skiing in Chile really got started about 70 years ago, when ski clubs built mountain refugios. The popularity of the sport spread quickly throughout the country until the 1980s when some Chilean ski resorts were truly world-class. The country’s skiing season runs from May to October, and the dry snow resembles that of Utah or New Mexico. Yampu offers two skiing tours in Chile’s best resorts.
