The Amazon
The Bolivian Amazon Basin has the largest virgin jungle in South America. This remote region has remained mostly intact due to the country’s strong preservation projects. There are eight National Parks, the Amboro and the Madidi being the most important. You can take an Amazonian Safari, staying at a local farm and taking day trips out to see the region’s diverse fauna: capybaras, alligators, puma, jaguars, and several species of monkeys and birds, including the blue and yellow macaw. Or you may prefer the Ecological and Cultural Cruise up the Mamore River.
