Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue. He landed in Venezuela in 1498 and introduced Europe to one of the most impressive countries he had ever seen. He and his crew called it "Tierra de Gracia," or Land of Grace, because it made them think of paradise. Just one year later, in 1499, Americo Vespucci arrived in the Guajira Peninsula, approached Lake Maracaibo and baptized the country “Venezuela,” or small Venice, on account of its “palafitos,” or indigenous houses perched over the water on palm trunks. Two names that do Venezuela justice.
Our Venezuela highlights are carefully designed to showcase Venezuela's wide-ranging cultural and geographic attractions, from the world's tallest, single waterfall and the Amazon's jungles to castles; cliffs; fortresses; lagoons; small, mountain villages; and vast, almost infinite, plains.

I cannot believe it has been 3 weeks since we arrived home. I am so sorry I am so late in answering your email. We had absolutely the most wonderful adventure in the world (to the Angel Falls). You can't imagine how thrilling it was. Thank you again for all your support and hard work. When I have figured out how to send pictures by email, I will send you some that I took. In the meantime have a Happy Holiday and my best wishes for the New Year. |
