Experts believe that the Tayrona abandoned it sometime between 1550 and 1600 A.C. though, and jungle and overgrowth soon took over. Long-shrouded by jungle, Teyuna is distinct from the rest of the remains of Tayrona civilization in that sense; it's more occult, more a part of the jungle around it....
