We board the boat and are taken to Akwadup Lodge, our island oasis. The bungalows are located over the water and we walk on a gangway to get to them. Inside we find a flush toilet, shower, and two double beds with bug netting and fans. Out the back door is a little balcony overlooking the water and two hammocks to lie in as we watch the world go by. We are invited to breakfast and then I take a nap in the hammock. Welcome to real paradise where hardly a sound is heard. The guide of the lodge, Daniel, comes by and tells us about our day and the different things we will do. After breakfast we will go to the island of Achutupu which is a local Kuna Yala village to learn about the people and their daily lives.

Traveled to Panama in July 2011I returned home safe and sound on Sunday. Thank you very much for organizing a most successful overland trip through Central America. I am thinking seriously about a third overland trip through South America in the next year or so. Thank you again for arranging a very successful and most enjoyable itinerary. I will contact you again in the next couple of months about similar trips through South America and the Caribbean.
