Travel to Brazil’s rich Amazonian ecosystem to the Amazon Ecopark Lodge located at the Tarumã river bank, a tributary of the Rio Negro, 30 minutes from Manaus. During this unique itinerary you will explore the Amazon in a hands-on manner visiting a native community, hiking, canoeing, and fishing. You will also learn basic orientation skills and of the local medicinal and edible flora.
The Amazon Ecopark is a jungle lodge with 20 rustic bungalows, each with 3 suites. The open-air restaurant serves three mails daily to guests using fresh and seasonal products from the region. Nearby the Ecopark is the Primate Rehabilitation Center, with primates retrieved from illegal sales and exports. Here the monkeys are evaluated and treated by professionals until they are ready to be reintroduced into the jungle.

Day 1
Monkey Forest
This morning we will transfer from Manaus to the Amazon Ecopark Lodge located at the Tarumã river bank. After checking into your accommodations, visit the Monkey Forest a primate rehabilitation center created in 1991 to retrieve primates from illegal trades.
This afternoon, following lunch, we will take a boat ride to visit a local home and learn the traditions and customs of the Amazonian natives.
This evening we will depart on canoe to explore the activities of the river at night looking for small alligators and other nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2
Jungle Survival Training
After breakfast we will enjoy a nature hike discussing the biodiversity surrounding the Ecopark which includes rainforest, savannahs, and creeks. During this hike we will learn basic jungle surviving techniques including recognizing and locating edible fruits, first aid plants, and orientation skills.
Note: This tour is offered according to the Ecopark Lodge's schedule and may be substituted on an alternative day.
After returning to the lodge for lunch, chose to depart on a fishing tour for piranhas, or other species, dependent on the season.
Day 3
Meeting of the Waters
This morning after breakfast, depart for a tour of Meeting of the Waters. Traveling by boat we will pass along the city of Manaus viewing the Amazonas Theatre, the Port of Manaus, arriving at our destination slightly before noon.
The Meeting of the Waters is the merge of the Negro and Solimoes Rivers, from this point both rivers from to create the Amazon River that travels all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. The waters of the two rivers run side by side for approximately 12kms without mixing, creating an unusual and fascinating site.
Traveling along the newly formed Amazon River, we will reach the island ‘Terra Nova’ for lunch at a typical restaurant. Dependent on the weather, we will visit the village on this island before returning to the Ecopark Lodge.
Day 4
After breakfast, enjoy a morning at leisure before transferring back to the airport in Manaus to overlap with the Yampu add-on of your choice or to board your international flight home. Flight not included in pricing.
