The best time to visit these regions of northern Botswana is during the region’s dry season, most typically between May and October. At this time the bush will be dried and thinned, thus providing better chances for game viewing in most areas. Conversely, the dry season creates immense floods within the Okavango Delta, thus transforming dry grasslands into the lush blue and green floodplains that make it so beautiful. As a result, large herds of animals migrate from the dry interior of Botswana to congregate around the water sources of the Delta, consequently attracting the larger predators as well. Moreover, the weather is most favorable at this time of the year with warm sunny days, cool nights, and virtually no rain.
