Day 1
Overnight international flight to Cape Town.
Day 2
Upon arrival in Cape Town, airport reception and transfer in a private vehicle to your hotel. After check in enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 3
Today we will start by helping you get your bearings in Cape Town along with an introduction to its past with a private city tour. Have your eyes and ears opened to seldom seen sights and seldom heard stories of the city’s former inhabitants; beautiful architectural heritage; social, cultural, religious and political history. In the afternoon we will make our way to the Cable Car Station for a memorable trip to the top of Table Mountain. This is one of the Natural Wonders of the World and the views of the city, coastline and Cape Peninsula are truly breathtaking. Enjoy one of the many walks on top of the mountain before enjoying a well earned cocktail while watching the sun set.
Day 4
After breakfast you will be taken on a private tour of the Cape Peninsula. This is a full day tour that takes in some of Cape Town’s best scenery and attractions. You will stop at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, these beautiful gardens are home to over 6000 plant species. You will then visit the Jackass Penguin Colony at Boulders Bay and perhaps have a swim at the beach next door.
After a stop for lunch overlooking False Bay, where you can keep an eye out for whales, you will move on to Cape Point, which is the Southwestern point of Africa and one of the most dangerous points to sail around in the World. On the way back you can look for wildlife as you travel through Cape Point National Park, before going round Chapman’s Peak Drive and home for a sun downer!
Day 5
Transfer to your hotel in the Cape Winelands. You are at leisure to explore the Winelands – wonder around the historic towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, or enjoy a lazy lunch at a vineyard. Overnight in Franschhoek
Day 6
After breakfast, set off on a full day guided Winelands tour. This tour will allow you to discover the beauty and history of the Cape Winelands. In Paarl we visit the Afrikaans Taal Monument. Next we stop at the Victor Verster Prison where Nelson Mandela was released from detention in 1990. A scenic drive is taken to Franschhoek Valley and it is here we start with the vineyard visits.
South African wine is one of the fastest growing in popularity and we will take you to some of the best wine makers in the country. You will be able to experience several tastings as well as a private cellar tour. The Winelands region is also incredibly beautiful, with the vineyards woven through spectacular mountain ranges. We will stop for lunch in one of the many excellent restaurants and soak up the surroundings while enjoying some first rate cuisine.
Transfer back to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
Day 7
This morning, you will transfer to Hermanus. We recommend for the adventurous and curious alike, a full day white shark cage diving tour. If you are not brave enough to enter the waters, the viewing from the boat is also excellent, or take the day to explore Hermanus. Overnight in Hermanus
Day 8
After breakfast, embark on a full day guided whale watching tour. First stop is at the Old Harbor Museum. It was proclaimed a museum in 1972 and used to provide a rocky but safe shelter for the small fishing boats whose owners were drawn to Hermanus. Enjoy lunch in Hermanus while watching the whales in the bay. Afterwards, visit a local vineyard for wine tasting before taking a scenic drive to Kleinmond for a visit to the Harold Porter Botanical Garden. Situated in the center of the coastal fynbos where the flora is at its richest, the garden encompasses mountain slopes, deep gorges with derelict forests as well as dunes adjacent to the beach with their salt-adapted plants.
Whales are seasonal and can be spotted usually between June & November, but that doesn't mean Hermanus isn't a fantastic destination during the summer months, with beautiful beaches and wonderful scenery.
Day 9
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Cape Town airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Victoria Falls or Livingstone. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore your beautiful surroundings. Overnight in Victoria Falls or Livingstone.
Day 10
After breakfast, we set off on a Tour of the mighty Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls – now in its 150 Millionth fantastic year - reaches its zenith around May each year. It’s a truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, the sound, the smell; the humbling feeling that here indeed is nature’s supreme masterpiece. No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing prepares you for your first sight. This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon.
En route, you may be taken past the ‘Big Tree’ where you may stop and take photos. You will be accompanied through the rainforest by one of our qualified guides who will give a brief history of the falls, as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest. Guides are also happy to assist clients with photographs while visiting this most spectacular of waterfalls. Raincoats are provided when needed. Overnight in Victoria Falls or Livingstone.
Day 11
This morning, enjoy an extraordinary and exhilarating journey along ancient game trails seated comfortably on the back of nature’s true “king of the beasts” – the elephant! Experience an age old tradition whilst silently exploring the magnificent Victoria Falls National Park, part of a World Heritage Site in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Enjoy sightings of waterbuck, white rhino, zebra, giraffe and other forms of plains game as well as breathtaking gorge views from elephant-back. The unique view of the spray of the Victoria Falls, a mere 3km (~2 miles) away, will ensure this moment stays with you for all time.
Witness this mutually enriching and rewarding relationship between man and elephant in modern day Africa. Sunrise and sunset Victoria Falls Elephant Back Safaris are run daily, promising you much more than just a game-viewing experience, but rather a closer insight into the worlds largest land mammal, the African Elephant. Overnight in Victoria Falls or Livingstone.
Day 12
After breakfast, the Chobe Day trip departs to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. You will be transferred to the Kazungula border where your Botswana guide will meet you. From here you proceed straight to the river where you will spend the morning viewing game along the Chobe River. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided. The morning cruise ends at around 12.30hrs and you are then taken to a hotel on the riverbank for lunch.
After lunch, board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park where you will have the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of wildlife. After your game drive, you are taken back to the Kazungula Border where you will be met by your Zimbabwean/Zambian guide for your return transfer to Victoria Falls, arriving at approximately 18.30hrs.
Day 13
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your connection to Cape Town and flight home or continue with the Yampu Tours add-on of your choice.
