Your luxury trips starts at the Miraflores Park Hotel in Lima with a full city tour of Peru’s capital. Stay at the luxurious Las Casitas del Colca in Colca Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. Pamper yourself at Monasterio Hotel in Cuzco and take a breathtaking ride on the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu. Traveling to Lake Titicaca, the birthplace of the Inca civilization, you will stay at the lavish Titilaka Hotel. This luxury trip concludes with a private dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Lima.

Recently, following UNESCO recommendations, Peruvian authorities have placed restrictions on the visitation of Machu Picchu, the lost Incan ruins. Currently, no more than 2,500 people daily will be allowed to visit the ruins. While these new restrictions are great for the preservation of the ruins, they may cause some difficulties in your ability to visit them, so we recommend booking with plenty of notice.

All tours and transfers are private, and most meals are included.

Day 1

Flight to Lima. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up in a private car by our English-speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Morning, private tour of Lima, one of the most important cities in South America since its founding in 1535. Journey through the historic center of the city. Admire the beauty of San Martín and Major squares, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and visit San Francisco Convent, a religious building from the end of the 16th century, and its catacombs. Also drive through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. After the tour, we will have lunch at a typical cevicheria in Miraflores facing the Pacific Ocean.
Afternoon visit to Larco Herrera Museum, Archeological Museum or Gold Museum (see details below). Evening, transfer and dinner at one of the best restaurants of typical Peruvian cuisine: Las Brujas de Cachiche.

Day 3

Morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Arequipa. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. City tour including the Catalina Convent, the Plaza de Armas or Main Square, the Cathedral, the Church of La Compania and the colonial district of Yanahuara.

Day 4

Arequipa – Chivay. Departure time 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Leave Arequipa crossing the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, passing by Pampa Ca’ahuas, the Bojedales of Tocra (water filterings) with a stop at Patapampa, special viewpoint of the Andes situated at 4,800 meters altitude. Lunch at Chivay. Overnight in Colca.

Day 5

Enjoy a choice of a la carte activities such as Peruvian Paso horse riding, hiking tours, painting lessons, fly fishing lessons, cooking lessons and pisco sour lessons.

Day 6

Chivay - Cruz del Condor – Arequipa. Check-out for trip toward Arequipa. Leave the hotel to explore the town of Yanque and visit its church. Continue to Cruz del Condor viewpoint to see the majestic flight of the Andean condors. Start the return to Arequipa visiting the Andean villages of Yanque, Achoma, Maca and its church, Pinchollo with stops in Antahuilque—a place known for its mysterious lagoons, where we can observe the andenes or cultivation terraces. Continue to Choquetico to admire the high burials and rock maquettes. Lunch on the way. Continue to Arequipa, ending at your hotel.

Day 7

Breakfast. Morning, transfer to the airport for flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco, transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure to acclimatize. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 8

Morning walking tour of Cuzco. We will visit the Cathedral (hosting some of the finest artwork in all of Peru) and San Francisco Church. We will pass by some of the city’s most colorful streets and Major Square (Plaza de Armas). We will have time to eat lunch before we start the afternoon tour of the Korikancha temple or Temple of the Sun, and the Inca ruins around the city of Cuzco: Tambomachay (Inca Fountains), Puca Pucara (Red Fortress), amphitheater of Kenko and finally the Sacsahuaman Fortress. Afternoon, return to your hotel. Evening, transfer and dinner, and folkloric show at La Tunupa.

Day 9

Morning transfer from your Cuzco hotel to the Poroy train station to board the Hiram Bingham Train to Machu Picchu. The train leaves in the morning taking a spectacular journey through a changing landscape while you enjoy breakfast. We will pass through the Sacred Valley and its lush fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. From there, the journey is highlighted by wonderful vistas of the mountains and the beautiful Urubamba River which runs through the Sacred Valley. On arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu, you will be taken by bus to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge for lunch, overlooking the ancient citadel. After lunch, we will have a guided tour of the ruins. Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas, was a flourishing ceremonial and agricultural site, probably the gateway to the jungle marches of the Inca Empire. The central buildings were erected with the polished stone works of the Cusco Imperial style, though the site was probably occupied well before the Incas started their expansion. It was associated with the earth cult revolving around the Coca leaf, which was a privilege of the Inca Royal family and priests. Typical English afternoon tea will be served at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. Dinner at the Sanctuary Lodge.

Note: Government regulations limit the number of visitors to Machu Picchu daily. Entrance is subject to availability. Please book with plenty of notice so we may confirm your entrance to the ruins for today and tomorrow.

Day 10

This morning our resident guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning for a second visit to the Machu Picchu ruins. Optional hike of the Huayna Picchu, please contact your Yampu travel consultant. Early in the evening we will return to Cuzco by Hiram Bingham Train. Cocktails and dinner will be served on board. Upon arrival in Cuzco, transfer to your hotel.

Day 11

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lake Titicaca. En route to the hotel, visit the necropolis of Sillustani (12,000 feet above sea level), the lagoon of Umayo and the fabulous “chullpas,” cylinder-shaped tombs. Transfer to your hotel.
Note: You may also take the Andean Explorer train from Cuzco to Puno (10 hour scenic ride), although it operates only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Additional cost of $ 125 per person applies. If you take this option, you will arrive in Puno in the evening so we recommend adding an extra night at Titilaka.

Day 12

Activities at Titilaka. All meals and activities included (see activities below).

Day 13

Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Evening farewell dinner at La Rosa Nautica. This restaurant is located on a pier on the shores of the Pacific Ocean with amazing views.

Day 14

Transfer to the airport to take the flight back home, or choose from optional tours in Peru or other South American countries (check-out of the hotel at 12 pm. Late check-out available at an additional cost). If your flight departs in the evening, you will have time for a shopping tour of Lima, visiting the famous handicraft markets accompanied by our guides. You may also visit some of the fascinating art galleries in Barranco or Miraflores.
