Full Day Excursions

Full Paine

Possibly the best way to get to now Torres del Paine National Park is by submerging yourself into its landscape. Enjoy guided treks with impressive views of the mountains and learning more about the local flora and fauna. You will enjoy a boxed lunch outdoors before continuing to Lago Grey where you have the option of hiking around the lake shore or enjoying a boat excursion to Grey Glacier. Please note the boat excursion will incur an additional charge.

Las Torres, Ascencio Valley

Today you will explore Ascencio Valley, walking through the beautiful lenga forest passing local vegetation and streams to get up close to the picturesque, towering peak. If you enjoy horseback iding there is also the option to enjoy a horseback ride to El Chileno Lodge, located at the halfway point of our trek. From here you will continue by foot to the base of the Towers.

Difficulty level: Challenging (some experience required) – Duration: 6-8 hours

French Valley

Transfer to Pudeto by vehicle where you will board the ferry for a 30-minute navigation across the Pehoe Lake. Disembarking the ferry you will begin your trek toward the French Valley, surrounded by lakes, rivers and streams with a wonderful view of the Paine massif. Reaching the feet of the Monte Paine Grande, you will have time to rest and enjoy lunch in front of the French Glacier. This excursion is only available November – March. Catamaran is included.

Enchanted Valley

One of the best ways to enjoy the sights of Patagonia is by horse. Today you will explore the landscapes of the Cerro Paine Ranch, an open prairie of more than 2 kilometers, by horseback.

Los Cuernos

Leaving the hotel this morning you will enjoy a spectacular view Mount Almirante Nieto. En route to the Cuernos Lodge you will also see Lake Nordenskjold. This excursion can be done via horseback or by foot.

The Lakes Trail

Today you will transfer by car to the Lazo Ranch for a trek through the forests of Nothofagus surrounded by colorful lagoons and streams. Arriving at El Toro Lake you will have an extraordinary view and time to enjoy lunch. This is also an ideal location to observe the local flora and fauna.

Difficulty level: Moderate – Duration: 7-8 hours

Grey Look out

Today you will transfer to Pudeto by vehicle where you will board the ferry for a 30-minute navigation across the Pehoe Lake. Begin your trek toward the Grey Glacier View Point passing by rocky areas and evergreen forests to reach an amazing view of the Grey Glacier. Excursion only available November – March

Half Day Excursions

Horseback riding

This excursion is designed for those who have not spent much time around horses and will help you become familiar with these animals. You will join the gauchos in the corral and stable to learn how to ride correctly on the land surrounding the hotel.

Sarmiento Lake

Enjoy a four hour trek through Paso la Feria, an exposed pass through a narrow valley. You will hike through a beech forest to the banks of Lago Sarmiento, stopping to examine a collection of calcium carbonate formations. Exploring the landscapes of pre-Andean shrubs you will see the contrasts of the Patagonian colors against the majestic mountain backdrop

Salto Grande

Transfer by car to Salto Grande, an area with one of the most beautiful views of the Paine Massif and also known for its lush vegetation. Today you will enjoy the stunning views of the park and explore the local flora and fauna. This excursion does not visit the glaciers.

Difficulty level: Moderate – Duration: 2-4 hours

Blue Lagoon

This is an ideal excursion for those who want to explore Torres del Paine by vehicle. You will be able to see the local wildlife, including flamingos and condors. This excursion includes great views of the Towers and landscapes that the park is famous for.

Patagon

Today you will visit the locations of the indigenous Aonikenk people who lived more than 7,000 years ago. Hiking to Lago Sarmiento you will be able to view collection of Aonikenk drawings still visible on a rock wall. During your trek enjoy the surrounding landscape and the local flora and fauna.

Difficulty level: Easy – Duration: 4 hours

Nordenskjold Lake

Today you will cross rivers, go down sandy rock dunes and visit gorgeous surroundings. You will have the possibility to practice and learn about horses. During this excursion you will be able to enjoy the flora, wild life, and beautiful views of the Nordenskjold Lake and Almirante Nieto Mount.

Difficulty level: Moderate (some experience required) – Duration: 3-4 hours

Lenga Forest

This excursion is designed for people interested in learning about the ecosystem of the Patagonian lenga forests. As you explore old lenga forests in the land surrounding Las Torres, look for Magellanic woodpeckers, Austral parakeets and Chilfliean flickers as well as the scat of various members of the cat family, including the puma. You will get to a great viewpoint of the Laguna Azul.
