Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu Falls and National Park are located ten miles from Puerto Iguazu. The deep flowing waters of the river fall from a height of 30 feet through 275 falls over one and a half mile. The frontier with Brazil goes through the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat) where the falling water gives the illusion of magic rainbows.
The National Park is full of the exotic subtropical vegetation which surrounds the falls and has 2.000 plant species – gigantic trees, ferns, lianas, orchids; 400 bird species – parrots, colibries, toucans; jaguars and yacarés (caimans).
You can see many of the falls up close via a system of catwalks installed, which offer unmatchable views. Around the falls, there is a 6,000 hectare natural reserve. Above the falls, the river itself is suitable for canoeing, kayaking and other water sports. This area contains extensive areas of subtropical rain forest, with unique flora and fauna, hundreds of species of birds and many mammals and reptiles.
