This two-day trip will take you to the Island of the Sun and Island of the Moon with an overnight stay on the Island of the Sun at Ecolodge La Estancia. Have a traditional Aymara lunch after visiting the Inca ruins of Pilkokaina. See the famous Dark Virgin and its church in Copacabana where the trip ends with the option to transfer to La Paz or Puno, Peru for other side trips.
Day 1
Transportation from La Paz or Puno to Copacabana (3 hours), boat to Island of the Sun (1 hour), land near Pilkokaina ruins and have a typical aptapi (typical Aymara lunch.) Then hike one hour to Ecolodge La Estancia. All meals included.
Day 2
Don’t miss an early sunrise. Take a boat north to the Chincana ruins (1 hour), then to Island of the Moon and its Ińak Uyu ruins, to finally reach Copacabana, visit the famous Dark Virgin and its church, lunch and a stroll of town. Transportation back to La Paz (3 hours) or Puno, Peru to overlap with other side trips in Peru. Lunch included.
