The Manu Wildlife Center is located east of the Manu River on the north bank of the Madre de Dios River, and is reached by a 35-minute light plane flight from Cuzco. One of the best destinations to spot wildlife in the Amazon, this region has two major wildlife attractions, the Macaw lick and the world’s only known Tapir lick. During your exploration of the Peruvian Amazon you will also visit the Oxbow Lake with opportunities to spot the giant otters, and chances to see 11 species of monkeys and deer, tapirs, and of course macaws.
