National Geographic Endeavour
|
The Endeavour is an expedition ship that was designed for discovery and active exploration. Access to Endeavour’s five onboard Naturalist Specialists will allow you the freedom to fully explore and interact with the amazing ecosystem of the Galapagos with copious and exotic flora and fauna.
In keeping with the nature of an expedition our itinerary is flexible allowing you to take advantage of this extraordinary wildlife sanctuary and is dependent on the Galapagos National Park Service. You will have the opportunity to go on nature walks with the local specialists, swim, snorkel, or explore the waters by kayak, glass-bottom boat, or zodiac. Below are some of the islands we may visit during our expeditions:
Bartolome
This is an enchanting landscape with mangroves and lava. Here you will be able to swim with the Galapagos Penguins
Santiago
This island is home to several Galapagos fur seals and is a great opportunity to explore the island’s several tide pools teaming with life.
Santa Cruz
Look for blue-footed boobies, pelicans, sea lions and more. Enjoy walks in the highlands and encounter giant tortoises in the wild.
Isabela
A small, black sand beach with wonderful snorkeling opportunities. This island is also home to a large colony of land iguanas.
Fernandina
This is the youngest island of the Galapagos and here you can explore relatively recent lava flows.
Floreana
Hike to a pristine white sand beach a popular nesting site for sea turtles
Española
This island is indigenous to the waved albatross and the colorful marine iguanas. Española is also a paradisefor Darwin’s finches, sea lions galore, and the famous blue-footed boobies. Snorkel and stroll along the island’s lovely beaches
