Paria Peninsula
Christopher Colombus reached the Paria Peninsula in 1498. Blown away by its terrain, he and his crew named what’s now Venezuela: Tierra de Gracia, or Land of Grace. To this day, the Paria Peninsula is known for its remote beaches, historic cocoa plantations, buffalo farms, thermal waters, small fishing towns, tropical forests and high concentration of hummingbirds (the highest in all of South America).
In Paria Peninsula Yampu offers accommodation at Posada Playa de Uva, set in a lemon plantation in a narrow valley, close to the village of Changuramas de Loreo and the beach.
