Start your trip in San Pedro de Atacama and continue to the REA to view several of the natural wonders available in this location. Continue through the highlands, crossing the Uyuni salt flat, and arrive in the village of Tahua for the night. In the morning, transfer and hike to the viewpoint of Chillima, then descend to the salt flats. Afterwards, visit Colchani to view local salt production. Continue to Oruro for the night and in the morning transfer to La Paz, your final destination.

Day 1

Transfer from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama to the border with Bolivia, Hito Cajon. En route we will visit the Green Lagoon. Its water surface has the appearance of a giant emerald. From here one can see the impressive beauty of Licancahur Volcano, at 5,865 meters above sea level. The special brightness of the green waters of the lake in the afternoon is dazzling. The intensely green coloring of its waters is due to their high magnesium content.

We will also visit the Chalviri Salt Flats, Sol de Mañana Geysers, fumaroles and volcanic craters that form a spectacular combination in this small one square kilometer area. We will continue onward to Laguna Colorada at 4,278 meters above sea level. This lagoon is characterized by the red tone of its waters. It is inhabited by flocks of flamingoes of three species: tokoko, with red plumage; chururu, with whitish plumage, and jututu, with pink plumage. The scenery is exceptionally beautiful at these heights, set off by the impressive redness of the Lagoon. Lunch is included today.

Day 2

Trip through the highlands to Alota (1 hour), then north passing San Agustin and San Juan, crossing the great Uyuni salt flat, visit “Incahuasi Island”, a special habitat of volcanic rocks and giant cactus. Continue north to see the mummies of Coquesa, and finally west to the village of Tahua (5 hours), in the foothill of the Tunupa volcano. Enjoy a great sunset, overnight in hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Today we will transfer privately to visit the Siloli Desert. This will be an exciting and full day journey through one of the most isolated and beautiful areas in the world. We will traverse deserts and asthonishing stone formations like the stone tree. Today keep your eyes out for flamingos! Lunch and dinner are included.

Day 3

This morning after breakfast we will transfer privately to the Uyuni Salt Flats where we will visit a local Salt Museum. We will also explore Isla Incahuasi. At a distance this island has the shape of a fish. Its historical name is Inka Wasi and is located at the center of the Uyuni salt pan. The rock surface here contains fossils of marine algae. This is the largest island in the group that forms an isolated oasis-type ecosystem within the salt pan. T he landscape against the background of the salt pans that extend to the horizon makes it an ideal place for photography fans. We will also visit Ojos de Agua geysers and enjoy lunch.

Late this afternoon we will transfer to Colchani where you will see very old methods to extract salt before transferring to your hotel in Uyuni for the evening.

Day 4

This morning we will transfer to the airport in Uyuni to take the flight to La Paz. Upon arrival in La Paz, you will be greeted for airport reception and transferred to your hotel.
