Start your trip in San Pedro de Atacama and continue to the REA to view several of the natural wonders available in this location. Continue through the highlands, crossing the Uyuni salt flat, and arrive in the village of Tahua for the night. In the morning, transfer and hike to the viewpoint of Chillima, then descend to the salt flats. Afterwards, visit Colchani to view local salt production. Continue to Oruro for the night and in the morning transfer to La Paz, your final destination.
Day 1
Departs Mon, Tue, Thu & Sat -
Transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to the border, to enter the REA Reserve, visiting; the Green lagoon in the foothills of Licancabur Mountain, high desert in Pampas de Dali, Chalviri lagoon and hot springs of Polques and geysers Sol de Mańana. Then Red lagoon with 30,000 Andean flamingos (3 hours), to finally reach Villamar (2 hours). Overnight in hotel. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 2
Trip through the highlands to Alota (1 hour), then north passing San Agustin and San Juan, crossing the great Uyuni salt flat, visit “Incahuasi Island”, a special habitat of volcanic rocks and giant cactus. Continue north to see the mummies of Coquesa, and finally west to the village of Tahua (5 hours), in the foothill of the Tunupa volcano. Enjoy a great sunset, overnight in hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3
Transport and hike to the natural viewpoint of Chillima and ruins of Pucara, then descend hiking to the saltflats (3 hours), transportation to the cave of the fossil of Chiquini and Campana Island (1 hour), lunch. Exit the salt flats in the eastern side of Colchani, to see the locals producing salt. Finally to Uyuni (2 hours), to have a day use in hotel Los Jardines and midnight train to Oruro (6-7 hours).Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 4
Arrival transfer in Oruro from the train to the bus station. Bus trip through the highlands to La Paz (3 hours). Breakfast included.
