One of the greatest “natural wonders”, the Uyuni salt flats are the biggest salt lakes in the world. 12,000 sq km of salt at an elevation of 12,000 ft, create a truly unforgettable experience as the flats reflect the sapphire-blue Altiplano sky. Start in Sucre with a city tour and continue through the highlands towards Potosi. The following day, explore the silver mines and the colonial sites. The following morning, cross the Andes Range towards Uyuni. Continue to Colchani to witness local salt production, pass by Isla Incahuasi, Coquesa, the foothills of the Tunupa Volcano and take a night train to Oruro. The following day return to La Paz from Oruro.
