Tour Overview

Focused on providing the best gastronomical experience and excursions, travelers will awaken their sleepy tastebuds while savoring the delectable dishes and wines throughout our Gastronomical Portugal Tour, from Porto to Algarve.

Like much of Europe, Portugal’s rich soils produce some of the finest wines in the world. Unlike its neighbors, though, the keyword to Portugal’s vinho is variety. Portugal’s 250 native grape varietals and the region’s unique processes create some of the most delicious wine variations you won’t find anywhere else. Portugal’s geographic position not only provides a vast array of wine options but also some of the finest ingredients to create a delightful cuisine of fish, cheeses, and bread full of flavor.

Escorted with a private driver, the tour takes visitors throughout the coastal city of Porto, tasting the city’s famed port wines before a memorable sailing excursion up the Douro river to the verdant Douro Valley for a unique winery experience. From Porto, travelers will continue the voyage with a stop in the Sintra Mountains to admire the ancient royal retreats, estates, and castles.

Moving on to the Capital of Portugal, explorers will spend two full days experiencing Lisbon’s must-see sites with an emphasis on gastronomy, visiting the local food markets before reaching the coastal region of Algarve. Here, foodies will not only enjoy the pristine beaches and quaint villages but will also take part in a local cooking class to cap off the journey.

I had an absolutely wonderful trip!

I had an absolutely wonderful trip! Thank you so much for all of your help and planning. The packet of information that you sent me was extremely helpful and gave me some great tips for the area I was visiting. My flights were perfect- thank you for the window seats and the brief layovers! My guide, Tika, was waiting for me at the airport when I arrived and she got me settled in my hotel and briefed me about our plan for the next day. The hotel was amazing too, it was very comfortable and relaxing. The itinerary that was set for my trek was detailed and accurate. The tea houses that we stayed at were nice, and everyone was very friendly. My guide was always attentive and made sure that I was taken care of, and that we were prepared for each day. We had a lot of interaction with other guides and trekkers along the way, which made this trip even better. All who involved with my trek to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar, did an amazing job. I always felt safe and taken care of, and that everything was going according to plan. And when our flight to Lukla was delayed that first day due to weather, arrangements were immediately made for me for another night at the hotel. I am so glad that Yampu Tours helped planned my trip. I had a wonderful time, and would love to use your travel assistance again in the future.

Everything went very smoothly on our private tour

Everything went very smoothly on our private tour, many thanks. We were able to see many different regions and aspects of Mexico making it a simply fascinating experience. We had a great time in Mexico City and Taxko (sadly Puebla was flooded and had to be taken out of the itinerary), and were able to take in the Aztek culture and Spanish colonial architecture. Then in the north, Copper Canyon (bigger than the Grand Canyon in the US) and the amazing train journey. The trip at the end to Baja California we managed to see the grey whales and the Yucatan and beautiful Maya ruins. The exposure to these very different areas in a short time made this a truly memorable journey.

I had a wonderful time!

Mexico was great! I’m very happy with all the tour guides, the transportation was spotless, and the hotels you arranged for me did the trick! Happily the world didn’t come to an end. Hahaha! Thank you so much for your help in planning my trip! You gracefully crunched a wild assortment of messy details in to a smooth flowing system! I saw and did everything I wanted to see and do and then some! I had a wonderful time!
