Kenya

The Republic of Kenya is located on the eastern coast of Africa and is approximately bisected by the equator. Named after Mount Kenya, the second highest peak in Africa, Kenya is home to thousands of species of animals and numerous wildlife reserves (some of which afford visitors a view of Tanzania’s Mt. Kilimanjaro). Kenya is a very diverse country, with over 40 cultures represented amongst its 39 million citizens. Despite encompassing only a relatively minor percentage of the population, Kenya’s Maasai culture (a semi-nomadic group with distinct customs and dress) is one of the most famous.
