Be in the know before you go
A valid passport is required to travel. It should be machine readable and have at least 6 month validity after your return home. You should have at least 2 blank pages per country that you are visiting. If your passport does not meet this requirement at the time of departure, you can be denied boarding for your international flight and may consequently incur additional expenses. According to the information we have, US citizens require an entry visa. Single-entry visas can be obtained on arrival at any airport, port or land border except at the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge, where you must have your Jordanian visa in advance. The visa costs JD 40 or $57 US. Please check with your local consulate or embassy for application information and for last minute changes.

"We have been on two trips using Yampu: to the backroads of Southern Mexico and to Jordan. We felt safe but adventurous on each, seeing what we wanted to see, not places on someone else's agenda. The hotels were always fine and the transportation and guides excellent. The Yampu people jumped into to help in a minor crisis (flight cancelled) leaving nothing to chance."
"Driver and guide were excellent as I have come to expect from Yampu. Good food and comfortable hotels allow one to concentrate on cultural sites. There is much more than Petra in Jordan. Very interesting "desert castles" and the early Islamic art and Byzantine mosaics were fabulous. Highly recommended trip."
