What Our Clients Are Saying
"Thank you for arranging a once in a lifetime trip for me and AJ on the Delfin and to Machu Picchu.
It was all and more than I anticipated. We were anxious about travelling alone and were amazed about how effortless you made it.
I don’t think I ever mentioned that I will be 73 this summer and I was determined to make this trip now as I wasn’t getting any younger. AJ is a few years younger but has knee issues.
The only time I got real dizzy was in Chinchero. We stopped at a textile demonstration and shopping area. I got out of the car and had to sit down repeatedly. It didn’t deter me from making purchases.
We are ecstatic that we did this and had so much fun. First – the Delfin. The entire experience was top shelf. The accommodations were great. The ship was kept spotless top to bottom every day without any inconvenience to passengers. We enjoyed our time on board almost as much as the time on shore. The mosquitos never bothered me. I can brag that I saw two anaconda, several poisonous tree frogs and beetles, lots of waterfowl, several species of monkeys and fished for piranha. Three times we were caught in rainstorms but the heavy rain ponchos came out. I did see the pink dolphins but didn’t go in for a swim. It was counter-intuitive for me to NOT drink the water but go in for swimming. I enjoyed feeding the manatee. The stop at the village to visit the school was refreshing. The children were enthusiastic and appreciative.
"My family and I had a great time on the trip to Peru and the Galapagos - I really enjoyed the tour guides in Peru who were very professional and informative, and the Galapagos was unforgettable. If only we had had more time to experience more of the islands.
I thought the visit to Misminay was a very nice touch as well - my mom had a lovely time bonding with the villagers in particular and the food was very good. The hike to Huayna Picchu was certainly not easy, but worth it. We didn't have an issue with it, but I think that some travelers might benefit from knowing that the hike to Huayna Picchu itself is strenuous, while the additional circuit to the Temple of the Moon (which we also did) is also difficult, as correctly advertised. I definitely wouldn't do it if it had been raining, but we lucked out and it was sunny on that day.
The restaurant you recommended in Cuzco - Cicciolina - is excellent as well. Definitely would encourage anyone to visit that place. The city tour that Ernesto gave us was also great - he had a lot of great insights we wouldn't have known.
In terms of the Galapagos and Ecuador, Guayaquil is obviously not a place with lots of tourist sights, but I think Felix did a good job and the tour of the Las Penas area was quite interesting. I'm not sure if it would have been useful to have the hotel located in an area such as downtown though, as there weren't many eating options around the Wyndham except for Las Penas which is more bars than restaurants. The Galapagos obviously was great, and the Isabela II is a wonderful ship. 3 people in one room would've been tight though, but we got lucky as the boat wasn't at capacity and so the boat had an extra room for us."
"I can't begin to tell you how impressed we are with the organization and the service we have received throughout our tour. At every transition we were met on time with a smiling face. The quality of all the guides and drivers has been exceptional.
We had about 3 minutes of confusion when we got off the train in Agua Calientes. We were expecting to see a Yampu sign but there was none. We figured out who it was after a few questions. Additionally they had us down as Mr. Jerry. No last name. As I said we solved this rather quickly. It was the only hiccup we had.
Yesterday I was not feeling well (the altitude) and nearly did not go on the afternoon tour. The guides were especially kind and helped me decide which stops would be too difficult and had the driver drop and pick up in the most convenient locations.
I'd like to add that having the same guide and driver on 3 of our transfers (hotel to train, train to hotel and hotel to airport) was really nice. The added service of our guide seeing us through the airport to security today was a very nice touch. We travel a lot and really didn't need the assist, but it was very nice.
We found the service and accommodations at each of the hotels excellent. I particularly loved the hotel in Sacred Valley. I needed another day there.
Everything has been top notch. The service you provided us in designing our tour was great. I couldn't have asked for more. I have already been giving out your name as a referral. But now that we have seen the end results, I will be singing your praises even more.
Thank you to you and everyone at Yampu and Lima Tours."
"It is hard to say which was the highlight of the trip because it was all so spectacular. Patagonia Camp was so special. Even though it was so remote and immersed in nature, it had all the amenities and comforts of home. The hiking was extraordinarily. Views left me speechless. Walking with the penguins in the rookery is a once in a lifetime experience. Iguasu Falls is most impressive. . . having traveled around the world and visited most renounced waterfalls. This was the most wonderful. Views of the Moreno glacier was so close you can appreciate its magnitude.
The lodgings you chose for us were very good. We were pleased with the service at each stay. What more can I say. We loved our trip."
"The trip was wonderful and we had a great time. We are already thinking about things to do and places to visit on the next Chile trip or perhaps other countries, like Peru or Argentina."
"First, many, many, many "thank yous" to you for what an amazing trip you put together for us.
The trip itself was beyond our wildest expectations. Peru was amazingly beautiful and spectacular, there were literally times where my breath was taken away with the beauty of the country and it had nothing to do with the altitude. Everyone was wonderful and gracious and really made us feel welcome. Our guides were always on-time, very informative, friendly, and we really enjoyed our time with each of them. Our meals were wonderful and such a delight. I pretty much did tasting menus everywhere, which really allowed me to enjoy so many things that I did not even know existed and certainly, I cannot get them in the United States.
Everything was truly beyond our expectations and I cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work in making this a truly once in a lifetime, incredible vacation for us both! Again, THANK YOU!!!!"
"Had an amazing time! Everything was well planned and cost-effective. Every guide was top-notch. Don’t know how we got all the best! Especially LOVED Carmenere Eco Hotel in SCL (Santiago, Chile). Will be sure to recommend me and Yampu and planning on sending a nice email!"
